I really love seeing new ideas in lioden and I ESPECIALLY love new lore! Soooo... there were some new encounters added in the Whispering Ancestors event this year. Some graves have been added, including Tefnut's from the recently retired July storyline.

When you encounter Tefnut's grave in explore you receive this text, "You find a Sunset Totem hidden within a secret place. It's stunning. As the sun hides behind the horizon, it embraces the totem with the most beautiful colours."That's definatley Tefnut. However, new quests hve been added to the Shamans this year and you can receive more text by completing them. If you lay flowers on her grave for a quest, you then see this interesting message, "You delicately place the flowers down onto the grave, then lie down at its base. Closing your eyes, you share your warmth with the mound as a gentle breeze rustles your fur." That's honestly beautiful!

I would have stopped there is there weren't MORE graves! Another memorial was in the shape of a tree. When you encounter it you can see the text, "You find a very old tree with a hollowed trunk, decorated in feline ornaments. It must be an important place for some lions." A tree decorated with ornaments? Is it Christmas or something? No, the decorations symbolize that this lion was once very beloved or important. When completing the Shaman quest you are given the words, "You gently place the herbal bundle inside the trunk. You step back and look up in awe at the crown of branches. Suddenly, everything around you begins to smell like a meadow of flowers." A meadow of flowers, eh? This meadow can be referring to the peaceful meadow Menhit and Apollyon hang out at or it can be a reminder or springtime when the flowers bloom. It could even be Wenet.

Okay here is most interesting grave. A lion skull decorated with trinkets. Okay, nothing too special here. It just says "You climb a hill and find an important place - an Ancestral Mound decorated with many trinkets." For the shaman quest you must sacrafice a toxic centipede. If completed you receive the text, "You gently place the small, wrapped bundle onto the rocks and squish it down with your paw. Its fluids seep through the cracks in the rocks and dampen the soil. Suddenly, everything around you begins to smell like fermented fruit." Wait-fermented fruit? Oh please don't be who I think this is!

TL;DR the new grave encounters in explore reminds me suspiciously of some lions from other events.
