keep the color scheme, update the logo but keep it fun like it is. the curvy letters and claw marks should stay, make it a bit more yellow with the brown tail tip!

And I hate wolvden layout and I do not play wolvden largely on its layout and mechinics. I will for real walk away from lioden if it changes anywhere close to wolvden. I dont care the GB ive bought or anything. I will drop it

I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one who dislikes the new site layout - I even considered making a topic about it myself at one point. Tbh, the new web design as a whole is kinda shitty (no offense to those who worked on it, though) It's just that the current one looks just fine, so why change it? The new logo is so much less appealing than the current one, and the site preview shows a lot of fontawesome icons, which makes the site look like a badly coded toyhouse page. Those icons are everywhere in wolvden, and it annoys me so much (I think I can figure out what the chatter tab is without the image, thanks) and I feel like they just clog up the page. A lot. I can see why some aspects of the game need remodeling (such as hunting, mobile gameplay, ect.) but I don't really see a reason to change the whole damn appearance of the site. Frankly, I would just rather keep the old site because, outdated as it may be, I've never had any sort of problem with it.

I'm just worried they'll make it similar to Wolvden, which has the Your Typical WebSim Game look. Please try to keep Lioden's personality. :(

Definitely supporting. The reason I loved Lioden was because it stood out as an immersive experience where you're in a defined world, as opposed to other browser pet sims that really felt like a collection of simple web pages with a few pieces of art and some buttons to click. Just like other games, in Lioden, you visit areas for quests, mini-games, items, etc.; but what sets Lioden apart from the other games I've seen, it feels like every little area it contains is part of a unique world with a nice amount of blending between "browser game" and "story universe", and I believe that's largely due to the art, background, colors, and layout. Of course, you'll always have to use your imagination to fill in the gaps; but I feel that here, there's a masterful use direction, setting, tone, and mood establishment that makes it significantly easier (without being too restrictive) to get a feel for the sort of setting around your character that you must build mentally to really sell the "this is a world, this is a place" vibe.

I guess, for a mental image, I feel like when it comes to lioden Lioden, my character (a lion) is in an African world with an imaginative twist. With many other games, even when they give a story aspect, I would feel like I or my character was lost on a blank slate. Kinda like this moment:

Such a look seems nice at first, it offers plenty of canvas for each user to paint their own little world; but when the base "material" is severely lacking in stimulation and established elements for the user, the mind will tend to venture away and seek that elsewhere.


Much like Fading Angel, I felt that Wolvden was a bit too plain in its current state, and at a sort of "bare bones" stage that didn't really keep the hook in my lip. I look forward to updates on Wolvden, but I really hope that its plain and general feeling doesn't extend into Lioden, moving layout/look updates for both games in a more plain and "soulless" feeling direction.

I agree that the site should stay as is designn wise, but to say someones opinion is not relevant is false and straight up rude. Their opinion for the change is just as valid as ours being against it.

I agree with this full-heartedly. I paid for an early access membership on Wolvden and haven't touched it more than a few times in total, because I hate the way it's set up. No disrespect to the creators, I love Lioden immensely and have been playing it since 2012? or 2013 (my side account was my original account). I had high hopes that it was going to be a lot more like Lioden.

I'm not sure if any of you play Chicken Smoothie, but on their website they allow players the option to switch between all of their different themes (including seasonal) in the user settings. I think that if they're going to implement a new layout here, they should keep the current theme and the dark mode theme as other options you have the choice to switch back to.
