The sun was rising as Hearken patrolled her eastern border. Here, the forest and savannah merged, creating a landscape of meadows separated by stands of trees - they cast long shadows under the dawn sun.

She was up earlier than usual. She'd followed the morning hunting patrol for a short while, then split off, deciding to check the scent-marks instead. Her lionesses had been reporting strange smells drifting over the border. Hearken was suspicious, and figured it'd be best to see for herself before anyone else came out here.

(was thinking apollōn could be on the border & they run into each other that way? its chill if you have something else in mind, too!)

As the sun began to rise Apollõn walked along her territory borders , she had been woken up early by one of her many Cubs that were early risers. After having been woken up she’d stretched and gathered a group of lionesses and some of the adolescent males and got them busy. The males went of patrolling and the lionesses went off hunting. Apollon walked around the territory and smiled softly as she found a nice spot to lay down and rest while the sun rose.

As she laid there she smelt something funny and frowned softly, she got up deciding it was a good idea to check it out. She walked slowly along the territory border somehow coming to the conclusion that the smell had been a lone lioness or lion who’d went through her territory although she could have been wrong. The smell seemed to be fading so she wasn’t gonna waste time on wondering about it at the moment. As she walked she noticed one of the neighboring prides Queen walking along the borders as well.

Hearken sniffed the ground, then looked up, startling backwards when she saw a lioness standing a few yards away.

"Who are you?" she roared, puffing out her chest to make up for the brief show of fear. She was a new queen - she couldn't tell if this lion was a neighbor, or a stranger, and she didn't want to wait and risk danger if she meant any harm.

Apollõn noticed that the neighboring queen had been startled by her , she backed up a little not wanting to seem threatening or whatever. She casually sat down and tilted her head at the other queen “well I’m Queen Apollõn, one of the neighboring prides Queens” she informed the other with a smile. She watched the other Queen “and who might you be?” She asked the other queen with a smile.

"Oh..." Hearken narrowed her eyes, but seeing the queen sit smoothed her nerves. She approached slowly and sniffed the air curiously. "I'm Queen Hearken, of Wormwood Pride. Sorry if I seemed rude... I only took over a few weeks ago, so I haven't met any of the neighbors yet."

“It’s very nice to meet you” she told the other queen. Apollõn smiled a little “ah that’s ok , I understand that. My successor was so intent on me learning the prides around us that I knew all kings or queens and their heirs by the time I was a year old” she told the other with an understanding smile.

"Oh. Great." Hearken smiled. Thoroughly calmed, she sat, enjoying the chance to meet what seemed like a kind neighbor. "You'd know my successor then, his name was Pallas. He passed away a short time ago in a border skirmish." She raised her head to the sky, voice deepening with emotion.
