It was a beautiful spring dawn, the world around me was filled with birdsong and the sounds of distant drakus however my mind was not focused on them but instead on the large warden before me, her fur was a muddy brown yet that made her no less intimidating. I could feel her watching me much as I did her, for the moment we both had a mutual treaty to remain on opposite sides of the clearing. Turning my head I grabbed my satchel that contained meat and other means of food I tended to pack, pulling out a chunk of wrapped meat I slowly unwrapped the fleshy piece before ripping off parts and carefully chucking them in her direction, at first she was skeptical and kept her distance but as the day went on she eventually came closer.

"See, I won't hurt you," I murmur softly as she draws close enough to sniff my hands, while she was eyeing me cautiously I pulled some more food from my bag to offer it to her, with this she laid down by my side as I remained there a while feeding her and stroking my fingers through her thick tufts of fur.

Being a slight chilly morning a women with pinkish hair is on her walk, going through the murky forest to go and explore some she has never really been in the forest a lot so why not go in. Sweater zipped up to her chin and hands in her pockets, along with her is a Guardian who had decided to go with her, on her small adventure into the forest this Guardian is like a dark blue and black, with star and sun like patterns his name being Bardaki. Following a trail in the woods Angel hears something off to the left of them, maybe just an animal but curiosity getting the better of her she would get off the trail and go follow the noise, Bardaki would seem to chirp in some sort of way hearing his owner veer from the trail, he would go and follow her making sure to stick close, the poor Guardian is blind so he relies on his other senses, to guide him like now he is relying on his hearing and smell to make sure he is with his owner. Upon finding a small water source of sorts Angel would head over to it and stand there looking around, spotting some bushes and ferns move she would be on guard in case it’s anything but to her surprise a Warden with brindle markings come out and heading to the water, the female Warden having spotted the two would stop and stand away from the water.

“Hey it’s okay we are not going to hurt you” Angel said as she would sit down looking to Bardaki then back to the Warden, as the Warden seem to relax a little and slowly approach the water to get a drink, while also keeping an eye on Angel in particular the Guardian the Warden can careless about it’s just the human she cares about. Getting a drink the Warden would slowly and carefully walk around the source stopping, some feet away from the human and Guardian as Angel smiles at the Warden “It’s okay pretty girl I won’t hurt you” Angel said staying where she is watching the Warden, as it would take a step forward or two and stop, watching to see what Angel would do. Staying where she is to not frighten or seem threatening to the Warden Angel would stay where she is, as she turns to Bardaki and pets him as Bardaki seems to do a weird purring at the petting. Watching the interaction between the two and seeing that Angel isn’t watching her, the female Warden would take some steps closer to the duo and stopping to see Angel, had looked at her staying where she is the Warden wouldn’t dare move from her new spot. Looking away once again as Angel goes back to petting Bardaki the Warden relaxes a bit more, as she would walk forwards towards the two getting within a foot from of the duo standing and watching.

A tall and thin elvish woman was making her way through a murky forest, a small pack of guardians trailing her. The drakus in charge was Earliglow- a red and white drakus that reminded her of strawberries and cream. The elven woman made her way through the thick forest, trying her best to avoid stepping on dead leaves and sticks. She walked into the forest deeper and deeper. What was the meaning of the woman making her way through this forest? She had heard about the good deeds of a young man, one who found poor and abandoned Draki and tried to find good homes for them. She merely hoped to perhaps gain another to her small pack. Saskatoon, a thick furred blue lad trotted next to her, bunting his head against the woman's leg. She knew her little pack was chaotic, but wonderful, valuing the bonds of imprinting and friendship more than anything.

"Shouldn't be much longer, my beloved plants!" She chirped, glancing around. What little light dappled through the thick trees was welcomed, warming her dark skin. She sighed, before coming to a stop at a small lake.

"We've deserved a break, what do you guys think?" She laughed, watching her small pack dart about and play in the water. She sat down, knowing they were being loud. They seemed preoccupied, but she could hear rustling near a berrybush near her. With a graceful rise, she got up, slowly moving towards the bushes. She crouched, not wanting to scare whatever it was. Ears perked up, and she froze there, seeing bright electric blue eyes that seemed to glow. She knew that this was a drakus, but it wasn't her beloved guardian subtype. She backed up, seeing the magnificent creature stalking towards her.

"Woah.. You're a beautiful one aren't you?" She cooed, making sure she was laying down, wanting to tell the Warden that she wasn't a threat. It lowered it's head, snorting, before growling. It was deep, ferocious and it shook her to her core. She looked back, suddenly realising why it was growling. Her little plant gang had come to her rescue, trying to intimidate the much larger drakus.

"Down!" She ordered, watching her draki lay down, eyes widened at her stern words. The warden tilted his head, before huffing, nosing at the pack she wore.

"You must be starving boy!" She exclaimed, before slowly reaching down to pat the golden warden. He flinched, but that was to be expected. She pulled out several types of meat, feeding the drakus calmly as she hummed.

"There you go, there you go, it's okay" She smiled, noticing how the warden relaxed, slowly laying down. She glanced towards his back, before gasping- he didn't have a tail. Though, she continued to pat him, wanting him to feel as comfortable as possible, even if he didn't want to join her little pack.

The day had started off like any other day before it. The crisp April morning air had a bit of a chill to it, but that was sure to die down once the sun rose higher. I hardly had time to enjoy the momentary tranquility when Giovanni barged his way into the room, the male warden always knew how to make an entrance. The regally majestic creature towered over my bed, having barely squeezed his entire frame into my small room, the sight sure to make even the most stuck up person laugh. “Good morning Gio.” I addressed lightly, not surprised when I only got an irritated huff back.

Work had kept me up to my ears in errands,paperwork and more for the last month causing my unintentional mistreatment of my friend. The poor guy hadn’t been out in weeks so his frustration was definitely justified. “I know, I’m sorry my friend.” I apologized as he bent, allowing me to pet his head. With speed quick as lightning I dressed, smiling at the sudden burst of excitement it brought my drakus. Normally we walked along the murky forest, both loving the challenge navigating the confusing terrain brought. Today though I watched as Giovanni uncharacteristically led the way towards the woodland trails.

“Are you sure?” I questioned as we came to the entrance. Since the day I found him Gio had an unexplainable tendency to avoid the trails. I had always speculated that it was due to the area being a common hunting ground for Guardians and that maybe Gio had some sort of disdain for his smaller cousins. Yet here he was standing in front of the entrance as if something was drawing him here. He clawed impatiently at the ground, giving me a side eyed glare. “Okay, okay. It’s your walk after all.” With a shrug we both stepped into the peaceful woodlands.

I could see why drakus and explores alike favored this trail. The calmness here had a way of making you forget about your problems and cause all negativity to fade away. After awhile I took a break, sitting against a strong and shady oak tree while Giovanni explored nearby. The many sounds here, birds singing, a small creek nearby even the wind itself all combined to form a harmonious symphony that had just began to lull me to sleep when something ran past me in a sudden blur. If it hadn’t been for Giovanni’s paused reaction I would have sworn I had been seeing things. The trail was still for a few moments after that, my eyes on Gio as I realized he was more so searching than exploring. His head shot up seconds before the mysterious blur went past again, this time I could faintly make out the color red.

Before I could put together my thoughts Giovanni was right behind it. The male warden was struggling to keep up just as I was struggling to keep up with both of them. And of course I lost them. I had searched high and low, wondering where Gio and his mystery blur had went. “Gio!”,”Giovanni!” I called, elated to hear his call back. Quickly I followed it, silently hoping he was uninjured. My mind was whirling as I raced through the thick brush and trees. Till this day I’m not sure what I expected to see when I reached him but it was no where near the sight I actually came across.

Finally after what felt like an eternity searching for my friend I found him and not just him. When I came up on the scene Gio had something trapped between himself and a decent size boulder. Carefully I had walked closer, Gio barely acknowledged my presence as he was so focused on the the creature in front of him. Upon closer inspection I now knew that the blur was a drakus, a guardian red and grayish markings holding a dead rabbit in its jaws. I was in awe to say the least, this was my first time seeing a guardian up close and though I wanted to engrave the memory in my head the poor creature looked upset. Which with Giovanni’s warden height looming over it I couldn’t blame it. But Gio didn’t seem aggressive at all in the situation which only had confused me.

Standing slightly between the two I could now tell that she was female, I offered my hand to show I had meant no harm. She was rightfully hesitant at first before giving a few small sniffs, her attention falling immediately back on Gio. I watched curiously as she slowly dropped her kill to the ground, nudging the dead rabbit towards my drakus as an offering. It was as if I wasn’t there as Giovanni studied the offering before passing it back.

The female guardian happily took it back, devouring it right in front of us. A sight I will never be able to unsee. When she was done she studied Giovanni, less hesitant as she walked up to him. I watched holding my breath as they both examined each other before she suddenly approached me. With slow calculation I reached out to pet her, to my surprise she met me halfway. I couldn’t help the wide smile on my face as I ran my hand along her small horns. I was giddy with excitement when I felt her nudge at my pack. I couldn’t figure out why till I remembered and reached in, pulling out some homemade drakus treats. I threw one to Gio, watching as he expertly caught it before holding one out for the female who happily took it.

She just about swallowed it whole before searching my hand for more. “Still hungry huh?” I questioned, unfortunately I had only brought the two treats as this was meant to be a small walk and not an all out expedition. “I’m sorry I don’t have anymore but I can bring you some tomorrow.” I told her, hoping she would understand. With a small huff she was off, bounding with agile grace through the trails.

True to our word Giovanni and I returned to the same spot the next day and the day and the days after that. Happy to find our little red husky looking female there each time. Her and Gio had grown close and I enjoyed her company as well. Briefly I let the thought that maybe a companion would be good for Gio cross my mind before shaking it away. I would leave that decision up to her if she wanted to join our little pack but for now Giovanni and I would keep visiting her day in and day out.

“Here we are.” The cloaked figure said as they turned to look at the woman, who has been following them along with her two drakus. The blue one looking rather wary of their surroundings while the brown one seems alert.

“Thank you.” The woman smiled, nodding her head to the figure before she started walking down the faded path. The blue drakus stuck close to her new owner, ever since the brown one brought her back to his human, she had become close with the two in a few days. However, even with the kindness, she is still nervous about the human suddenly abandoning her.

Sinaya heard the human mutter something under her breath and the drakus quietly chirped at her, nudging her elbow. The gesture made the woman looked at her and softly smiled. “Sorry. A bit distracted… This poster says there’s some kind of event going on but didn’t really specify where.” She said, letting out a soft sigh as she patted the drakus’ fur while the other snorted, giving the human a look.

“What? ‘Ya can’t judge me for wanting another drakus to add to the pack, Thuja! You brought one yourself! Not that I’m complaining though.” The woman said, laughing a little and Thuja huffed.
A few hours of walking later, the group stumbled upon a stream and decided to rest for a few minutes. The two drakus gathered around the human as she started rummaging through her things. “Aha!!!” She exclaimed as she pulled out a bamboo flute from her bag and the brown drakus gave her a strange look.

“What? This is resting!” She softly laughed as she took a deep breath and started playing a song. The music came out soft and mellow that it seemed to calm both guardians. Sinaya eventually rests her head on her owner’s lap as Thuja closed his eyes, listening to the melody.
The peaceful moment went on for a few more minutes until a rustle was heard from somewhere near, making the two drakus alert towards their surroundings and the owner stop playing the flute.

“Is someone there?” She called out as she puts a hand on top of Sinaya’s head and the other over Thuja’s shoulder, signaling them both to stand down. “We don’t mean any harm.”

There was silence.

After a few moments, a large drakus emerged into the small clearing and stared at the human, glancing at the flute on her lap. The woman tilted her head to the side before looking down at the flute. “Oh! You heard the music huh?” She asked as she chuckled a little and gestured towards the empty space. “Why don’t you join us? We’re just resting here for a bit then probably eat too. I think I should have enough for everyone.”

The Warden regarded them for a moment before quietly going near the stream and lie down a few feet away from the group. The woman smiled and continued to play her flute. Everything was peaceful.

The woman carefully walked along the beautiful path, the sun flittered through the tree creating cascading patters, a Guardian followed the woman it was dark red mainly with burnt orange legs and purple face and chest marks it ran ahead to grab a small bird that had started to fly out of a tree, making soft chirping noises as it chased the bird.
Suddenly what seemed to be a black and almost gold colour Guardian launched out of the undergrowth and grabbed the bird from in front of the woman’s Drakus which stopped and stared at the other guardian with a sad look, “Nullus, be nice. And hello friend would you like some food?” she fist said to Nullus then the strange Drakus quietly while grabbing a pack off her shoulders, the male Drakus hissed at this movement, “I’m just grabbing my bag, don’t worry,” she opened it and pulled out some treats which she placed on the ground for the strange Drakus and opened her hand for Nullus to take some from it.

She watched as the Guardian moved closer to grab the treats, she slowly moved her hand to allow him to sniff it when he did he made a click noise causing her to giggle slightly she then went to pet him which he allowed as he ate the treats, when he finished he nudged her hand off like a cat would and layer down near the duo in a spot where the sun wasn’t as blocked.

While the small, adorable addition to my drakus family was adored… His seemingly endless amount of energy maybe not so much. I think we all needed to get out and get some fresh air. A sunny April morning before the weekend passed felt right. Tasul practically burst out the door ahead of me, the brightly colored sentry appeared equally as excited as the small, but just as visually vibrant, hybrid youth at his heels. Laughing quietly to myself, I took up the rear of our trio and together we were off down a familiar path with the blue sentry leading the way. I had first met Tasul at the cove, I assumed that is why he favored this particular patch of coastline.

If I was honest to myself, anywhere with an array of pebbles or rocks would have pleased him. No sooner did we arrive at the waters edge was Tasul off, nose to the ground and zig zagging about. He’d collect any stone that caught his eye, I’ve yet to decipher his taste. Color, shape and type varied day by day. The ‘game’ was a harmless one and I never discouraged it. Bly attempted to follow his father’s lead, often distracted by pouncing on Tasul’s tail.

A sharp chirp from Tasul had all three of us pausing, the tone alert and warning. Ahead I noticed a dark silhouette making its way toward us from the treeline flanking the cove. Another drakus, that much was obvious. An owner I did not see… strays were also not uncommon. To be safe I called my two back to my side, watching as the dark shape came further into view. Dark, I realized, because his fur was a lush black accented with an earthy brown. Head high and tail slowly swaying, he would have been intimidating. Except for the thick stick clutched between his jaws and an almost prance to his step. “Well hello there,” I greeted, motioning for my two to remain still as I lowered myself to a kneel.

A guardian, a male I hadn’t seen here before. He looked like he’d been on his own for a bit but not distrusting. In a slow movement to keep my intentions clear I held out my hand and much to my surprise a quite slobbery stick was dropped onto my open palm. “What a sweetie, you want to play?” A tentative scratch under the chin seemed to further soften the new drakus’ features. Noticing the anticipation in his eyes as they followed the stick, I didn’t keep him waiting. With a strong toss I sent it flying ahead of us. At this point my two deemed the new guest a friend and a game of keep-away followed. We wouldn’t refuse the company. Maybe he’d scamper off once he was bored or, maybe he would stay…

It was near the start to middle of April, flowers had just started blooming in the new spring day,the grass slightly still damp from the morning dew. A short figure emerged from their home, the faint sound of what only could be assumed as their mother cried out a warning and voiced her concerns, the figure nodding and reassured their mother that they would be fine and that it was only a short walk, it wouldn't be long, an hour at the latest. handing a small red bird a sunflower seed through the thin, shiny metal bars of the training cage, the small human set off on their walk through the forests that rest behind their cozy, warm, home.

Slowly walking along the dirt path, the short human being hummed quietly, soothing music flowing through their ear buds and into their ears. A faint chirp caused hazel and green eyes over in the direction, but assuming it was only the small robin,that they had brought with them, chirping along to the tune as well, the small human smiled and continued their short walk. A faint shake of a bush, a sound they new didn't come from the small winged creature, caught their attention, something urging them to stray from the path and ignore their mothers warning, just this once, of course they had done this before when the bird had flown off their shoulder, causing that very same creature to be put back in the cage, only until it was trained enough to be let out. the small human removed their earbuds, tucking the wires into the bag on their hip. A soft click and a nose peeked out through the damp leaves, small water droplets hitting the ground. the small human crouched, reaching a hand out to move the greenery, the bird screeching out in protest, the nose quickly moving back behind the leaves, a much larger, and not as friendly looking being stood up from behind it, large ears perking to get a better sense of the situation.
"hey hey.. shh shh.'' the human reaching a finger through the thin bars of the cage, calming the bird with a few pets of it's red feathers. the being behind the bush giving a few soft chirps to get the humans attention.
''oh! hello." hazel eyes widened slightly as they met the creature, a brown color stood out again a dark black, icy blue eyes complementing it quite nicely.the Drakus narrowed it's eyes, the start of a screech leaving its throat as the human reached out their hand, fingers pointed down the reveal two metal rings on the middle and ring finger, their palm pointed away from the large creature.
''Did I startle you? I'm sorry."soft words left the human as the Guardian moved it's head away, its long tail thudding against the ground. the caged bird hopped down from its little swing, pecking at the grass. the Drakus chirped, rushing out from behind the bush and over to the bird. The short human chuckling softly as they watched the creature crouch down beside the cage.
"Do you like her?'' a chirp from the tall being confirmed that it did in fact, that the small bird. the human stood from the grass, sitting on the other side of cage as to not startle the Drakus.
''Her name is beetroot.You know..I've never seen anything like you before.of course." the human slowly slid along the grass, carefully as to not startle or scare off the Drakus.
"I've heard of beings like you, some have kept them as pets or friends, a strong bond and trust between either party." their words grew soft and quiet, a small hand reaching out hesitating for a second before a soft pelt was pushed against it.
''you wouldn't mind if I took you back with me? you could always return back here if you wanted,but at least let me feed you." The human hummed, carefully and slowly petting the Guardian.
A soft chirp had confirmed its answer, a smile curling the short human's lips.

I totally didn't just forget entries were due by ro today

As far as first expeditions went in the Murky Forest, the young woman couldn’t say they got any worse than what she currently experienced. She hadn’t expected finding an elusive drakus nor convincing it to like her to be easy, yet hours often passed without even a trace of a Warden, and when one was encountered, it always disappeared in a blur, no matter how much fresh meat the woman gently tossed to it. And of course the Murky Forest (quite aptly named, she’d like to add), filtered out enough afternoon sunlight that the young woman had to squint to discern her surroundings. She could hardly distinguish her own dark-furred Guardians, much less glimpse the creature that trailed stealthily behind, snapping up the chunks of meat that lay forgotten where she threw them.

It was only when the sun began to dip below the horizon that the woman realized she was lost, walking in circles and hopelessly confounded by tall trees. As the sky darkened further, the woman decided to settle in a more-or-less safe clearing, unwilling to risk travelling at night and faithful in her drakus’ defensive capabilities.

Just as she’d slid her pack to the ground and settled against a tree, the woman heard two sharp chirps from one of her companions. A warning. Tense and alert, the woman scanned her surroundings for the cause of her Guardians’ distress, when her gaze alighted upon a pair of cerulean eyes that cut through the gloom. Instantly, the woman recognized the creature as a Warden, and her breath caught in her throat as it edged closer, revealing vivid orange fur dulled by the night. She was aware of her Guardians behind her, ready to leap into action at a moment’s notice, yet the more she studied the Warden, the less terrifying it seemed despite its size. There was no hostility in its eyes, only bright curiosity as it studied her.

For a few moments, none moved. Then without warning, the Warden grabbed her pack gently in its jaws, half turning and kneading the ground impatiently before glancing back at the woman. Understanding dawning in her eyes, the woman hopped to her feet, signalling to her draki to follow the Warden as it trotted through the trees, its tangerine coloration like a beacon in the darkness.

Several minutes passed before they reached the treeline, and the woman nearly ran out of the forest in relief. The Warden beside her paused just at the edge, dropping her pack at her feet.

“Thank you,” the woman said, lifting a hand to pet the drakus. “You know, if you’d like, you could stay with me. You’d have lots of company, and you could help me find my way again if I’m ever lost”. The Warden rubbed its head against her with a contented rumble, and the woman smiled. Perhaps she’d made a new friend after all.

A soft breeze carried a new scent toward the nose of Fi’al. The curious Guardian immediately started chirping about a new adventure. Seeing how the last time went, her pack mates were hesitant to even listen. Vox’ya, however, showed a surprising interest as she had smelled this scent as well. The rest of the group turned their heads to the unusual duo making their way over to their handler. Even the two sentinels, lying at the edge of the open field raised their head. The chirping of the tight group of Guardians drew the keepers attention faster than anything else. Even the Wardens joined in, growling about the scent they all caught.

Search parties were send out. As the Sentinels ventured into the Great Unknown, the Wardens split up over the Murky Forest. After clear instructions not to split up and to keep an eye on Fi’al, the Guardians went to the Woodland Trail. It’s didn’t take too long for Fi’al to come dashing out of the forest. It wasn’t exactly a surprise that they lost her. With clicking noises she tried to drag the keeper and Val’xa -who had stayed behind- along onto the trail. Cheerfully she bounced ahead, trying to get the Warden and keeper to move faster. She was way too excited to show what she found.

The small group entered the clearance near the town where a man is talking about Drakus. Fi’al immediately dashes off to try and play with something that looks like a dog in a Guardian costume. Hm, weird. The keeper lets her eyes wander over the different Drakus that are looking to be adopted. They all seem well taken care off, meaning she has no reason to complain about all of this happening. A few catch her attention, maybe she could give it a shot.

Slowly she approached a Warden that seems to be hiding the fact that he’s missing a piece of his body. Tailless. She stops at a safe distance, Val’xa standing behind her. This way she wouldn’t scare the Warden. A short, soft whistle was enough to catch his attention. “You don’t need to hide it. I get that it might be hard, one of my Guardians is the same as you. But it is not a flaw, it is who you are.” The words might not be fully understood but the intent behind them is. Slowly the Warden lies down. The keeper followed his example and beckons Val’xa to do the same.

Harmony is found in silence. The rustle of leaves mixed with the murmurs of people and Drakus in the distance. This peace did not last for long. Fi’al had returned and pounced on the Warden’s back. Oh man, so much for peace. At this point the Warden forgets his insecurities and decides to play fight back. Peace in a different form, maybe even more enjoyable. As their time runs out, the keeper tells Fi’al and Val’xa to join her and wait for the final judgement.
