Edited title to more accurately reflect the change I would like to see. On the whole I'm open to even just seeing a "are you sure" screen before claiming. Really, I know am a noob and everyone else probably has a better idea of what should or shouldn't be implemented, so if people think that giving more than one chance is bad for some reason then maybe we can just have a warning screen (though I'd kind of like to know why it would be bad)

I have a feeling this will really make me look like a noob for saying, and imagine this will probably just be seen as my fault, but completing the whole event only to fail at claiming Wenet's cousin felt awful. Once you click claim, you can't go back. I didn't know it wasn't confirmed so since I couldn't do anything to earn any GB whilst the claiming screen was up I basically had to accept my high chance of failure. Which happened.

If we only get one chance at getting a lion and we have to complete the whole event to get that chance, I think it would be nice if we got two chances if we accidentally clicked claim before we were ready.

If this idea is really unpopular, can we simply get an inbetween page before we go into claiming to remind us we only get one chance at claiming. It may have been mentioned somewhere, but I didn't see it. And there was no "are you sure you are ready to claim now" button either.

Heck, if we need to pay a 1GB fee to get another chance, and can only do so if we already failed, I'd accept that too. And if you couldn't generate a new lioness, but it was still the same one from before, then no one could use this to 'farm' RNG.

Other suggestions people have mentioned include adding a Leapord Orchid to Wenet's shop for HP - I also like this.

If you vote no support I'd like to know why. I still think of myself as fairly bad at this game and I want to know if there is a reason my suggestion doesn't work. Obviously, no pressure.

This suggestion has 13 supports and 15 NO supports.

I wouldn't necessarily want an auto-claim, but maybe there could be a leopard orchid in Wenets shop instead that you can purchase prior for HP?

That would be really useful! Or alternatively, the option to leave and come back at any time throughout the day, so if you start the claim them realise you don't have any GB on hand you can leave to earn them and come back.
To be honest, even I prefer either a second chance or your suggestion to an auto-claim. I just think as it stands now there's no way to fix things if you mess up.

If anything maybe a warning like you mentioned before you claim could work? Something like "Are you SURE you want to try and claim right now? You only have 1 chance!"

Kinda like how you get a warning before you kill/chase/reserve a lion; that way people are aware it's 1-try and can work on getting GB or a leopard orchid for her before they give it a go

I think tthat + a leopard orchid for 5-10 HP could work.

Exactly! That would honestly be amazing. Had I got a warning like that I know I would have gone ahead and gathered the nessecary GB to guarantee a claim. Really, I'm happy with any small improvements to the feature that just make it feel less annoying to fail.

I mean... the button says 'Court Wenet'... maybe they should change it to say 'Claim' instead of 'Court.' That way, people would KNOW that once you click that button, you're gonna claim her. There's NO going back.

Adding another warning... I don't think it's necessary. I think it's fair to assume that most people would understand that once you hit that button, you're gonna claim her. Like... you know it's gonna happen, you're aware that we can claim her today, so why would you not make sure you're prepared to do so?

No support.

Leopard orchids in Wenet's shop could potentially be a nice extra to add in, but I don't think it needs a lot more warnings before claiming. The existing official wiki page is extremely clear about it, and the event news posts always remind people how important it is to check that for all info, same as with every monthly event.

I don't think expecting new users to count on the official wiki or general site knowledge to know that it's a one-chance thing is really fair. Whilst I'm not new, I'm not a regular player, and have not been active on the site for a while. You can certainly argue I should have remembered or double-checked, and I accept that I made a silly mistake. Honestly, I'm over the whole situation now, but I still stand by what I said about being more clear.

People who are new to the site, doing this event as their first event don't really deserve to be told 'you should have looked into it' when it's also just possible for the information to be more obvious.
In fact, you can't even really count on new users to check all event news posts either.
If there is an event page on the site, most users would expect that the event page itself contains all the info and warnings needed for taking part. There really aren't many sites I can think of where if something is important for users to know relating to an event, it isn't made clear on the event page as well.

I think some of the comments mentioned here are just very centred on the idea that 'it is known' is a good enough reason to not make it clearer. Not to say I don't appreciate feedback, because I do! Thank you so much for your responses, even if I still disagree.
I'm not sure why making it clearer would be negative in anyway, personally. In my eyes, it just makes the site more friendly for newcomers or forgetful people, right? It's really easy to look at sites we've been on for a while and say 'it doesn't need to be changed, because it's worked fine for us', but I just can't stop thinking how I would genuinely just wanna quit if this happened to me as a total newcomer. Things can be hard to learn on sites like this, and when you make it this easy to make a mistake on a one time a year chance, it can be really disheartening.

I get what you're saying, but tbh I do think expecting even new players to check the wiki is pretty reasonable because that's exactly its purpose. These days it's mentioned all over the place all the time because it contains the tutorials, getting started guides etc aimed at brand new players, as well as the more complex stuff. Most help questions you ask in chat or forums that's where you're going to be directed to as well, for the same reason. At this point the game basically conditions you from the very start to keep checking the wiki as an essential resource.

To be eligible for Wenet claiming you have to complete the previous 10 storyline quests over a minimum of 10 days, more if you don't complete one every day. So all players at that point will necessarily have had a number of rollovers and be getting familiar with the game and almost certainly the wiki. And the newest wiki version has the current event pages (including storyline, if any) linked on its frontpage, so you can't miss them.

To be clear, I'm not totally against adding a more explicit warning in-game, I'm just not convinced that would make much difference - frankly in my experience no matter how many times something is written players still rush through in the heat of the moment and don't take in the text.

That's why imo directing everyone to the wiki from the beginning is more useful because you can read and prepare for what will happen beforehand. That said, it's been suggested before to add a direct wiki link on the Event tab itself, and I agree that could be useful as another nudge to find the info to prepare for each step if people aren't bothering to read through the full news posts.

You make a good point! Thank you for explaining! There's also the possibility that if they do add a warning, it won't prevent users from still making mistakes. I still think it would be nice, because I find it somewhat unusual that information as crucial as the claiming process being the same as NCL claiming is absent (from what I recall) from the actual event page, but I understand being sceptical of the actual impact it may have if it even was there.
It's nice to have the wiki, but to be honest, I do think it would be nicer for a link on the event page to the wiki like you said. I know my eyes have glossed over the wiki link a few times.
Thank you again for your input! :D I hope I wasn't impolite in my response before.

No you're good, and I'm sorry if I sounded dismissive as well! <3 Just a little jaded by now because of knowing how much doesn't get read no matter how big/bold/all caps it is haha.

But I did manage to find that suggestion I mentioned about adding a link to the Event tab itself, in case anyone wants to go bump/support that - here :)
