"Well-" Dahlia was cut off as a voice came from the speakers overhead. Dahlia knew the voice all too well.
"All hunters, the gates will open in 5 minutes. Please report to your gate. Again, the gates will open in 5 minutes."
Dahlia sighed, "Looks like I gotta go. Wanna join with me and Max tonight?"
Before Dahlia could wait for a responce Max ran over to her and whispered something in her ear. Dahlia's face turned even paler.
Max started to pull her away, but Dahlia called back to MidKnight, "The dead old tree with names carved into it when you turn down the left abandoned road. Meet me there if you wanna come."
She disappeared into the crowd it Max, heading to their gate.

MidKnight nodded. "Pack, time to go"
She went to her gate and waited for it to open. Snowfang and Moon were by her side and the rest of the pack behind her. She got ready to shift as soon as the gate opened.

"Well... that'll change a few things." Dahlia said to Max as they shouldered past everyone to get to the front. "Not to mention make it all worse. Do you think someone will die out there tonight?" Max shrugged, "Dunno. We'll have to wait and see."
A few moments later, the metal gates lifted and the hunters were exposed to the cold night air. The sun had set already, and the stars above seemed to tease the hunters down below. Tonight, it seemed darker, almost quieter.
Dahlia felt as if something was off, but followed Max as he led the way towards the tree. She summoned the shadows, keeping her and Max almost invisible as they moved below the trees that lined whatever was left of the path.

MidKnight jumped into the air as the gate opened wide and shifted. She landed and started running in to the night. Her pack followed begin her as they headed towards the trees.

As Dahlia and Max reached the dead old tree, she summoned the darkness to create a protective barrier around them so hey could talk without being attacked by monsters.
"I don't know if MidKnight is joining us tonight." Dahlia said.
"It doesn't matter. We're still out here, aren't we?" Max replied.

Dahlia sighed and leaned against the tree's old trunk, "So, where to tonight?"

MidKnight bounded to the tree. She noticed a barrier. She smiled. Protection.
She howled loudly, and with power.

Dahlia listened carefully to the howl and peeked out. Seeing as it was MidKnight, she let down a section of the barrier big enough for her and the wolves to pass through. "Quickly." She said as Max stood to the side with his arms crossed.

MidKnight ran inside her pack quickly piling inside it as well. Her wolves all sat inside to take up the least amount of room and she did too. Thought she did take up some room her wolf form was a bit bigger than her wolves are.

Dahlia, seeing as the safe area was a bit crowded now, expanded the circle a bit. She turned to Max, waiting for him to tell MidKnight what he had heard.
"Well..." Max started, "Here's no easy way to put it, really, so I'll just break the news. Not that it would really make surviving out here harder, not really. You two are some of the best hunters, I'm really the only one who should be worried." Max laughed, not a bit of bitterness in his voice.
"Well, recently there's been a change. Now we have to stay 24 hours here, not 12. Then we'll have a 24 hour break, and back into hell we go."

"Just great. " The pack shuffled she they all laid down. MidKnight stood up.
" I prefer to work at night so do my wolves. But what can we do? We will just have to fight for longer. "

"Exactly that. I can't keep us protected for too long, either I'll get tired or it'll be counted as cheating." A shadow crossed Dahlia's face, "From what I know, we have about 10 minutes before I need to let this barrier down."
Max held up a finger to silence Dahlia, "Listen."
In the distance, a girl's scream could be heard. "Do you think she's... you know..." Dahlia asked, not wanting to say the word.

MidKnight and her pack instantly turned to the scream. It was much louder for them. Moon and Snowfang looked up at MidKnight wondering what she would like them to do.

Max shook his head. "She'll be fine if she's strong enough. If she's weak, then she won't survive. Survival of the fittest, you know?"
Dahlia glared at him, "You don't need to tell me that. What do you think, MidKnight? For all we know, something's lurking right outside."
