Survey ResultsSome of you were interested in seeing the results of the July event survey we published in last week's Community Update, and we're happy to share the feedback we've received!
From the results shown above, we can see that launching without a storyline for July was unfortunate. We have always planned to have one, and it will be coming next year. We have decided to make a small link between the previous storyline and the new one after many of you have expressed that you're sad to see the old characters go. Whilst we won't be seeing the old characters again, there will be something that links them, so 'homage' will be paid. It was absolutely time for the previous July event to be retired. Rewriting the storyline wouldn't have erased how existing players felt about the characters from playing the storyline as it was, and it was just time for it to come to a close. This new event is still based on the existing celestial theme and does fit within the lore of the previous event. There is unfortunately not enough time for us to release the full storyline this year that will better explain things. We think the storyline and coming expansion next year will really tie it all together and make it make sense. We're very sorry it's not ready now. We really appreciate all of the useful feedback so many of you have given and will take this into account to make sure it delivers as well as possible next year! * Per the feedback and survey results, the base, mane colour, and marking applicators are now available to purchase for Axion Cores within the Draco Demiurge Exchange. * We have added in a 'Firefly to Silver Beetle' exchange tool within Tefnut's Memories. If you have Fireflies available on your account, you can exchange them for Silver Beetles at a rate of 1 Firefly to 5 Silver Beetles.

@❄️ Icey ❄️ (#44765) I don't remember who said it, but someone pointed out that events lately are focusing on fighting apocalyptic monsters more than doing... well, lion things. I wouldn't normally be someone to complain - again, I love cosmic monsters - but I joined Lioden for the lion theme and there's not a lot that focuses on lions much anymore... ...or Africa. I would have preferred a continuation of Menhit and Apollyon's story. I feel nothing for the Demiurge. He's cute I guess. People like cute things. But the Demiurge's event also sprung body horror on people without much warning, as much as I think the monstrous lion is cool. I don't really like this dragon monster - even though I give props to the team for modeling it after actual Demiurges. Space is sparkly, but the more I take part in this event, the more I miss the old cast of characters. I wish something had been done with the interesting choice of names: Apademak is a lion-headed Nubian warrior god. Menhit was also a lion-headed Nubian warrior goddess. Apollyon is another name of Abaddon, an archangel of the abyss - a demonic entity. A story continuation utilizing this as a hinge point would have been incredible, of perhaps Apollyon turning out to be deceitful, and having lead Menhit astray. With her father out of the way, Apollyon can overtake the celestial kingdom. It could involve helping Menhit fight Apollyon, and could then tie into October, where Apollyon's allies attempt to overtake Earth instead. Then, Menhit would be a savior figure, having saved both her kingdom and the animals of Africa. I am constantly impressed with how consistent and responsive the Lioden Team is regarding the game content and community here. There is abundant communication and willingness to gather feedback and tweak and change things for the benefit of everyone here on a consistent basis. This post is another great example of this! This is a major reason why I continue playing this game and have actually purchased things with real money, when I have discontinued many others as I have gotten older lol Kudos to you guys and thank you for all your hard work. Thank you for sharing the survey results!! Looking over everything, maybe for major changes the surveys should be offered earlier? It would help everyone know what to expect from an upcoming event and allow you guys to gauge reception. Will there be any adjustments to either currency drops or battles? That’s the main complaint I’ve seen coming up in chats/forums. Besides folks being put-off that there’s no storyline ready for an event that had a coherent storyline with different endings that depended on your choices. And not doing lion-stuff. Dragons are fine, I guess, VERY generally speaking. In fantasy books/shows/etc. But dragons and snakes aren’t… natural enemies or very African. Having all these snakes, dragons and being in space somehow is strange. The fireflies to SB option is nice, too. I appreciate that option! 0 players like this post! Meh... That's still my feeling with this month, meh. I still think it was released too soon, it still feels unfinished and all the encounters hinting at something good next year are just disappointing to come across. A And next year it will be probably be another apocalyptic event filled with snakes. Just like June. And another event that has nothing to do with lions or Arica, like I said before. I still don't understand the need for the two versions of Explore because the regular Explor has just become a "click-through your energy to gather currency for a different Explore" act ignoring everything in there, that you do a couple of times every day. And you still get 20-25 Shards at most for a full bar of energy. So yay, another five steps! If my favorite markings apps weren't in this month, I'd ignore it completely. But you have very smartly made them available only for the new currency so I have to play this event. So yeah, I hope that everyone else does enjoy this month but you have definitely ruined July for me and probably the entire game by this event but mostly how all the criticism and feedback was handled and mostly dismissed. 0 players like this post! I am still pretty sad to see the old event gone, it had some really good content for one. It did, as well feel more in tune with the Lioden and theme lions. Rather than traipsing around the space. Even if the art and monsters look artistically really really good --I do feel somehow, that if the old event had to be taken away, the inspiration for the new event could have come from African folklore/ and/or its creatures. Perhaps the old event could have been somehow tied to new one as well. Even if the characters from it would have been gone from the stage. Still, this event might shape up to be pretty cool later when more content is added. Either way these things are huge task for the devs so good luck. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Intresting to see the survey results and great to see the firefly exchange! Sad to see that that none of the other concerns are acknowledged. Like currency drops, which seems to be the main complaint for a lot of people. I mean I don't understand why there is a need for 2 different currencies in the event. Why do we need to collect one to be able to collect the other? This is just time consuming and boring. Just mindlessly clicking through explore, exactly like Wolvden. Please don't mix those two sites up. And the currency rate is still to low, can this be adressed if it will get changed? I mean, for 1 explore bar I got 8 (!!!!) MS. 1 bar for celestial explore: got 19 AC and lost 75MS. Using another 2 explore bars and I'll have no MS left. And with the pitiful amount you get from normal explore you can do only few steps in celestial explore. I think this event started on the wrong foot.... And that'll be the first event since I signed up that I'll more or less skip. 0 players like this post! Like? |

How I would have responded to the survey now is different than responding 3 days into the event. Maybe that was the point ? Like another user said, sending out a survey before making changes might be more useful in the future. In this survey, almost 70 % of users either liked the old event or liked the NPCs but didn't like the story line. That is different than a majority of the player base hating the old event so it "absolutely has" to be completely retired. And there are still a lot of issues like currency drops, unfair battles, etc. not addressed by this update. On a side note I'm still pretty disappointed that a lion-based event was thrown out in favor of sparkly space dragons. Now there are three "fight snakes and/or dragons for currency" mega-events which is two more than I'm interested in participating in.  0 players like this post! Like? |

If you take away the 19.6% of players who weren’t on Lioden when the previous July event was in place, an overwhelming percentage of players liked it, which to me does not say “it absolutely needed to be retired”. That’s 86% approval of the content itself among players who experienced the old event, and a split opinion on the storyline. Judging by many players’ threads and responses to the change, the claim that a rewrite couldn’t work doesn’t really hold water unless you polled users’ opinions on the July NPCs specifically. 0 players like this post! I am wondering whether there are players whose opinions have changed since the survey came out. Because I know mine have. Even after the tweaks have been made the event seems very grind-y and unbalanced to me. And the math on the ratio of explore energy spent to axion cores earned is just insane. 0 players like this post! Like? |
