Since both Talyn and MidKnight are from Fairnyth, I'll start it there)

The glittering castle of ice stood in the center of Fairnyth, an intimidating sight. A flag flew above each large turret, the many beautiful details of the castle showed wealth and power. It was the largest structure in Fairnyth, and its gleaming silver gates made sure no one passed through without permission. The sky overhead was overcast, with a chilly wind blowing through the trees.
Today was special for the people of Fairnyth. All who were entering The Trials would leave for Whitehall, but not before the King and Queen could send them off.
Already, a large group of magic weilders was gathered at the gate, and excitememt buzzed through the air.

Talyn Ari Rose stood at the back of the group. She felt eyes looking over her, and she was used to it. Being the heir to the House of Rose, which was also the closest house to the current ruling family, drew attention, whether she wanted it or not.
Next to Talyn stood her brother, as cold and handsome as he always was. Talyn admired him for always keeping calm and ignoring the whispers, which she didn't have as much luck with.
At least today, she would leave for Whitehall, and soon, step into its grounds. Everyone had the same hope, but most wouldn't make it.
Today, everyone had been required to weae their finest, and she had ended up dressed in the only gown she had. It was a flowing white and grey dress, bordered with beautiful black crystals at the botton and top. It was flecked with glittering peices of ice, thanks to her friend Arven, and quite beautiful.
It was meant to show their beauty and wealth, and it surely did. Most girls were decked out in gems, which Talyn merely thought was absurd. She kept things simple, and simple could be pretty too.
"When is this going to start?" Talyn whispered to ber brother, who merely shrugged.

MidKnight stood beside her horse Voidaria who she held the reins of. She was planning to go in her combat clothes. That was what she had. It was right fitting and kept an air of mystery about her. For her hood was up , her gloves on and her face unseeable. And no one knew who she was. Voidaria was patient and didn't move.

Talyn sighed, she wasn't the most patient person. Just when Talyn thought she couldn't wait any other, the silver gates opened, and the group was flanked by guards dressed in silver armor. They were all guided through the grounds to the palace until they reached the large doors.
The palace wasn't cold, which Talyn already knew. She had grown up close to the royal family and been here many many times.
The heavy doors opened, revealing a long hallway. It was empty, except for a few guards standing here and there. Everything in the castle was made of ice, enchanting to have certain textures and to never melt. There were a few gasps of surprise as everyone took in the sight.
"It's way better the further we go. What are they going to do then, faint?" Talyn muttered. Alexei shot her a look, but she completely ignored. Who was he to judge her for what she says?
Talyn noticed the whispers had changed from the beauty of the castle to the two princes. She rolled her eyes, not like any of them even had a chance. Maybe the ones from closer families did, but it was pretty hopeless for most of them.
The group had stopped moving as the guard in front was listening intently to a messenger, and Talyn waited impatiently.

MidKnight looked around a little. It was impressive but she kept silent just holding onto the reins of her horse. She wouldn't be seperated from her. She was alll she had in this world. Voidaria was calm and just followed her.
She looked at the princes. She wasn't interested in them.
She waited for what was going to happen.

The group started to move again, this time towards the throne room. They stopped at the large doors as a few guards moved to the front.
Talyn stood still, her fingers playing with the edge of her gloves. They were black and thin, only half finger ones. The leather material hid small knives that could slide in or out, like claws. It was a gift, and she had made a habit of wearing them almost everywhere.
The large doors had the royal families crest engraved on each door, a snake entwined around a spear. At last, the doors opened, revealing a large room with four thrones are the other side raised on dais.

MidKnight waited patiently for this to be over with. She didn't like all these people. Voidaria pawed a hoof against the ground. She also wanted this to be over with.
MidKnight had 2 swords across her back sheathed. She also had several hidden daggers under her clothes. They were in easy reach so if she needed them she could get them within seconds.

The King and Queen sat on the thrones in the center, wearing entricate and regal clothing. At both sides of them sat the princes, looking equally cold as their parents. Someone at the side of the dais raised his voice to announce their presence.
In a smooth and cold voice, he began, "King Edric Everett and Queen Adela Everett of Fairnyth, Rulers of the Cold." He paused before continuing, "Prince Amir, eldest son, and younger son, Prince Leo." The younger son offered a slight smile, barely a smile. Again, the man started speaking again, "Presented to you, the next group of magic weilders to enter The Trials." He bowed deeply and stepped back into the shadows.
The King stood, his eyes scanning every face. "Well, The Trials certainly aren't easy. We wish you luck, all of Fairnyth does."
Talyn's mind wasn't on the King, it had wandered off to her dragon, Skive. She had been gifted him for her birthday, one of the many gifts from that year. She thought back to where he was waiting, she would definitely bring him to The Trials.

Talyn snapped to attention as Alexei nudged her with his foot. She shot him a glare, but that was all. The man stepped out of the shadows again as the King sat down.
"Well said, Your Majesty," he said, bowing again. He signaled to a guard, who once again began leading the group. They left through the same doors, but turned the other way.
Talyn recognized it as the hall that led towards the grounds and garden. Further back would be the horse and dragon stables. Skive had stayed there once, and it really was fit for royal dragons.
Not long after, the group was led out of the castle and into a beautifully kept garden. All sorts of flowers lined the path, but all in shades of blue, red, and black. Talyn took in the familiar sight as a guard began speaking.
The directions were clear, as they always were. Their rides would be waiting for them at the back gates, and they were to make their way towards it.

As they reached the back gates, a line of horses, cars, and whatever transportation people used were waiting. Talyn knew Skive wouldn't land when others were still here, he was a dragon after all and would cause quite a commotion.
With nothing to do, she waved her brother away and moved to stand in the shade of a large willow tree. She watched the people pass by, examining them, guessing if they had a chance or not.

Talyn watched someone mount a black horse, it was the one who had brouht it through the whole castle. It was taking way longer for people to leave than Talyn wanted, that or she was inpatient. She yawned and leaned against the tree as she watched people pass.
