Valentina walked along the bank of a river, head held low. She had been walking almost all day and had only stopped a few times. When it felt like she could go no longer she came to a halt and dropped her head to the water, ready to drink up the cool liquid. She had no clue where she was going and why, only that she needed to leave and get far away. Who cared if she was alone now? She could take care of herself! She snorted to herself, affirming what she just said out loud.

Adventurous Renzo wondered around, being in a herd would've been easier for him. They did everything together while he had to survive on his own. He had to hunt by himself, talk to himself, run away by himself, and so on. Why didn't he even have a herd? Eh, it was worthless into digging information right now, he continued to walk until he had noticed a mare. Perfect! Someone, to brag to and chat with, but was she a loner or in a herd? He trotted up to her smiling and snickering examining her for a bit. She was fairly tiny.. but not too tiny just a little tiny. "Uhm hello little one"

Not hearing him approach, she jumped and quickly turned around. She pinned her ears slightly and looked him over as she was silent for a moment, considering what to say. "Hello..." Do I need to get out of here? She thought to herself, slightly worried. Her back hooves were in the water and while it felt nice, she could hardly focus on that.

"Nice to meet you! I am Renzo and you?" He said smiling at her for a few minutes. He didn't really focus on her body language and was mainly focusing on becoming her friend, whether she was in a herd or not. She seemed quiet and probably was a good listener for when he wanted to brag and talk.

She raised an eyebrow, slightly confused. So it wasn't like that? Okay then. She smiled slightly, "I'm Valentina. Nice to, uh, meet you. Is your herd around here? Am I in your way or something?" She looked around, slightly sniffing the air to try to smell other horses around. She didn't smell anything that seemed odd to her.

"Hmm, Valentina is a nice name! It reminds me of Valentine, which I suppose you had a valentines date!" He said chuckling a bit, he was being annoyed clearly but he didn't care. He listed carefully as she brought up the herd. He didn't have a herd and she wasn't in his way but she didn't know that. They weren't like dogs where they automatically could sense if you had a pack etc. "Oh no I don't have a herd, I'm a loner due to past situations...But uh do you have a herd somewhere?"

She shook her head, "No, I don't have a herd. And, uh, no, I didn't have valentines date." She said the last part a little sheepishly, almost embarrassed to say so. Well, she was kind of embarrassed. If she had a herd she wouldn't have this problem. She shuffled her feet slightly.

"Hmm, no need to lie to me, miss!" He said continuing to examine her, for a bit. Was she really not in a herd? He wondered for a bit, usually, herds stuck together unless she had run away to get some water. "Well, I plan to start a strong herd soonly! Do you wanna help?" He said walking closer to her as he stared at her right in the eye for no reason. He was annoying but this lady didn't seem to mind, so he was going well so far.

She nodded, smiling slightly, "No, I really don't." She flicked one of her ears as she considered the suggestion, "Well, I don't see why not! I think you'd be a good lead stallion. As long as you let me join." She flicked him with her tail.

"Well, we'll see for now! If your leader pops out of nowhere and hunts me down, I'll um I don't know but I'll do something." He said chuckling as he backed up a bit, listening to her talk. She had agreed to help him start a herd! Well, that was perfect to him, he wouldn't have done it on his own for sure. "Thank you, Valentine! And since your helping, you may join." He said smiling as he nuzzled her a bit

She flicked her ears, "I don't have a leader..." She was a bit surprised that he suddenly nuzzled her but quickly returned it, happy about the show of affection. She shuffled her paws after a couple of moments, "Do you know how to run a herd? Where are we gonna get more horses?"
