I agree on the 30 day part but it could be a waste of 15 every month if it only assigns them protection if any brood mothers have slots open if the player has a lot more cubs then available protection slots ex: Say a player has 43 cubs and 5 brood mothers/25 protection slots even with your suggestion they would have 18 unprotected cubs.

Another example would be when i got a sudden influx of cubs(was over 20+) and i only had 3 brood mothers so if i paid for the auto protection only 15 cubs would've been protected (if all brood mothers had all empty slots) and there would have been unprotected cubs

Suggestion: After buying the auto protection your cubs would be protected without having to be assigned to a brood mother so all cubs are protected.
Where it says what brood mother is protecting them it could say something like protection boost activated.

I see having all cubs protected as more of a GB waste than only so many getting protected because if there isn’t anyone actively on when I need to dump fodder cubs I have to waste energy getting rid of them myself so the more cubs I don’t intend to keep that die the better.
