Hey hey! :)
I'm still pretty new and have been looking around curiously, always learning new things
I'll get the hang of the whole game eventually, but one thing has been itching me:
what is the player-base like here?
From what I've seen so far, it seems a little... odd? For example I found some suggestions threads and saw that if the suggestions for the game was unrealistic, people really didn't like that - one the other hand, if it was heavily researched, people would cheer for it
Of course, this game is definitely leaning towards realism a lot, but there is also rainbow-coloured lions, talking animals all interacting with each other and - as I just saw for the June event - literal demonic creatures you have to defeat with the power of the deities or something
and it's just a little confusing how everyone loves their realism on here, but then we also got stuff like that, haha

And for some more generic questions: What do players like here the most? What do they usually strive for? Things like that :3
Oh and- how is anyone interested in battle beetles? You can battle them, sure, but as far as I have looked, there is literally no other benefit to that. I guess you can breed and sell them for money, but I don't see a point in the battle beetles at all

Anyway, game has been fun so far ^^ I just wanted to have a peek into what the player-base is generally like :>

In the past the site had a lot of back and forth over if green bases should even be allowed since they’re not natural, but we already had purple and pink ones and nobody batted an eye. I think by now most of the hardcore realism players have done hard mode, which is a complicated play style where you basically start fresh and can’t have any in-breeding and must work up from having a rolled king to something you bred completely on your own.

I enjoy the realism mixed with fantasy personally, it is a game after all.

My current goal is to get a full BO (Breed only trait) king with 7 rosettes... so basically right now I'm just focused on trying to make money to reach said goal. After I get my king.. I think my next goal will be to make him stat heavy.

I've never done beetle battles, except maybe once or twice? I don't see the appeal.

Hey, welcome to Lioden! c: I don't think I'll be able to answer your first question completely - the playerbase is pretty large, and I'm just a tiny part of it. But, I think that for some players who are more "realism-oriented", the content of each event doesn't necessarily matter. The event rewards or the event shop would be more important, as they can either buy things they'd like for their own pride of lions (applicators, decor, breeding items) or if they don't have interest in anything in a specific shop, they can sell the stuff to other players and get money to buy the stuff they DO want.

There really isn't any one specific play-style that everyone does in the game. Some people like colorful lions, while others like natural lions. I lean more towards the first, but I also enjoy muted color-schemes from time to time. Not much of a fan of brown or cream usually though! There are players that mass-breed for mutations, and others that are breeding an extensive heir project. Lots of players just breed pretty lions, though. You have a lot of options for what piques your fancy :)

Regarding battle beetles - not a lot of players invest any time or interest in them. But, there are a few people who are absolutely hardcore about it. Possible rewards from beetle battles include:
A small amount of EXP for your king
A random herb
A bit of SB
A free beetle slot (though you can only get 10 for free from battles total)

I've seen a couple players with 200+ beetle slots, and they probably do their best to battle all of them every 15 minutes or so in order to maximize their investment. 150 beetles per 15 minutes is 600 battles in an hour. Let's say each battle has a 33% chance, 1 in 3, to garner one of the rewards above. 200 of their battles will give them a reward. It's not a lot on its own, but it adds up the more funding you are able to put into buying new beetle slots. Also, once beetles die, you can keep their carcass as an item in your hoard. Certain beetle carcasses can be crafted into items. (Small side effect to this play-style - you have to have a LOT of time, since beetles have to battle manually! The battle sequence can be skipped by refreshing the page, which saves a bit of time and doesn't prevent you from getting rewards in any way.)

I am also new and I comprehend how to do some things at this point. I'm just self conscious about my ugly pride profile and I do NOT comprehend how people make theirs look sooo nice. I also don't quite understand how to like actually get better and progress in this game. I would love some friends or just some mentors. I want pretty lions so bad lolol. Sorry for the kind of unrelated addition to your thread
