Owlstar He looked up at Hemlockshade, tilting his head slightly before jumping up to join the other tom, settling into a comfortable sitting position half a tail length away. Owlstar began to lightly groom his pelt, swiping his paw over his ears. It was pretty peaceful up here. As Hemlockshade began to speak, Owlstar felt a wry smile spread across his face. "Don't I?" Owlstar laughed slightly, but Hemlockshade's disappointed head shake made his whiskers droop slightly. Was his friend really disappointed, or was it something of a joke? In an effort to seem more relaxed, Owlstar continued grooming, still sitting casually. The sun was shining almost directly at them, and he could feel his pelt grow hot. He shook out his coat a little, watching a small bird flutter away, out of camp. His thoughts drifted towards other things for a couple moments, before Hemlockshade's expectant gaze prompted him to keep speaking. "It wasn't supposed to end in an argument." Owlstar's tail had began to flick slowly as he thought, but he made sure to keep still, so Hemlockshade wouldn't accidentally mistake it as a sign of irritation. "All I did was ask a question, after all." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hemlockshade gives a small hum at the others words, thinking. It seemed like Gentlebreeze had some problems of her own to figure out, and the questioning just came at the wrong timing. She hadn't been gentle when she was talking to him, that much was for certain. To think the timid ol healer would snap at the leader like that, she must've had a secret worth protecting. "Whats in twolegplace anyway?" He sighs, the word only bringing forth images of monsters and twolegs stomping about. Nothing anycat should be interested in, that's for sure. But clearly, something was drawing her there. It made sense then, why she'd rolled in mint; to hide her scent. Everything about her screamed guilty of something, the question was what. "Just a bunch of twolegs, kittypets and dogs." Ah, suppose Gentlebreeze had found herself some housefolk to stay with? The thought made his fur prickle because that was disturbing. Who wanted their weird furless paws touching them, or anything for that matter? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Owlstar He stretched, moving out of his sitting position for a moment as he curved in a arc, trying to shake the restlessness he suddenly felt. He wanted to get to sparring, feel his heart race as he traded blows with an opponent. Everyone should be in camp, apart from Gentlebreeze, right? He flicked his ears slightly, wishing that cats would stop sinking off every time he had his back turned. "Honestly, I'm not sure. The only thing I could think was either taking food from a twoleg or something like that. Not really much there that we don't have in a clan." Owlstar paused for a moment, something suddenly occurring to him. "I never said anything about the twolegplace, did I?" Owlstar purred, making sure the other tom knew he hadn't been upset by the eavesdropping, but he wondered. How much had Hemlockshade heard? "I should've known you'd be nearby to poke your nose into it." Owlstar laughed, before continuing to listen. He had moved from sitting to lying down on the sun-warmed rock. His tail moved slowly, as he relaxed, kneading the stone below him slightly, as if he could make it softer. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Palewind The she cat was still staring at where Gentlebreeze had gone. She then looked back at Hemlockshade and Owlstar. Should she follow? Should she risk getting in trouble again for the sake of making sure Gentlebreeze was okay? How would Owlstar react if he saw her leaving? She was having this debate as she stared at the place Gentlebreeze had left from. 0 players like this post! Like? |

The thought of Gentlebreeze going to twolegplace for their food was equally disgusting as going there for the twolegs themselves. Oh, he could see it now, her eating those hard pebbles, staying for the night and then coming to the clan as if they were a second priority. Clan cats were meant to reject the soft life of a kittypet, was Gentlebreeze actually welcoming it? If the downfall of Shadowclan had taught him anything, it was that anything was possible. Hemlockshade, of course, shows no guilt about eavesdropping. "I was concerned about my clanmates; as any cat ought to be." He says, taking on a humble tone, as if he were a righteous warrior who was the example of what all cats should strive to be. "Besides." He continues, dropping the act. "I'm sure everyone was a little interested in hearing where she went; it's not like her disappearance was a secret." He knew how clans worked after all, and gossip surely got around. "But, I'm sure that's Gentlebreeze will return soon. For all her words, she doesn't strike me as a cat who would abandon her clan to play with twolegs." Though she also hadn't struck him as a cat who would willingly go where twolegs frequented, so there was that. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Owlstar Listing to Hemlockshade's 'humble' tone, Owlstar found himself smiling. It was always nice to chat with his friend, a cat who didn't treat every word that was said like it somehow meant life or death for the clan. The warm sunshine really was quite pleasant, and Owlstar found his thoughts wandering a little, switching from thinking about what Gentlebreeze might be doing, to glancing casually around the clearing, yellow-green eyes flicking from cat to cat. He found himself occasionally meeting Hemlockshade's eyes, wondering slightly at the deeper green color. It reminded him almost of pine branches, or shade-covered grass. With a slight startle, Owlstar returned his focus to what Hemlockshade was actually saying. "If she does return soon, I hope it won't disrupt the training too much. About the twolegs, though. What cat in their right mind would let themselves be-" Owlstar's claws unsheathed slightly as an instinctual shudder ran up along his spine. "picked up by those creatures." Owlstar shook his head slightly. "I've never understood it." //I was going to write more but I am feeling rather sick Probably the last post for the night Also, I was just curious, but what timezones are you guys on? (Hope you feel better snek! Im in UK time, just woke up, its 8) Jay He followed after briskly, eventually getting used to the weird soft ground below his paws. The wood floors of his housefolk's place was much easier to walk on, but he wasn't the complaining type of cat. The tom's focus drifted after he asked his question, observing the flocks of birds in the air with clear fascination. Toby's reply made him flinch, as he hadn't been paying much attention for an actual answer. 'That's good..' He meowed after he was sure the other cat finished talking, returning his smile. Atleast this other cat was nice. The tiny one scared him. 1 player likes this post! Like? Edited on 25/02/24 @ 01:07:42 by 🎩Fancy fork [Cutlery] 🍴 (#427147) |

At the mention of training, Hemlockshade's nose wrinkles in distaste, followed by an even bitter expression at the thought of getting picked up by one. He had never seen one up close, and thank Starclan for that, but he had observed them. Often waltzing around in their weird pelts, loud and not the best smelling. "It's probably like being picked up by a frog." He muses, the odd texture of the amphibian being the closest connection he could make. He then flashes the other a smug look. "I suppose that's why you like frogs so much, eh?" Though slightly disturbing, the thought of a twoleg walking around that looked like a frog was so ridiculous that it could be considered slightly funny. Almost was like those strange dreams he'd occasionally have, the real nonsensical ones. "But-" he pauses with a sigh. "Back to the training thing. We're still doing that?" It's important the other knows how much he doesn't want to do it, even though it's very obvious about how not excited he is. (EST for me, and I hope you feel better soon!) 1 player likes this post! Owlstar "That is not why I like frogs!" Owlstar laughed, playfully batting at Hemlockshade with a paw. "If a twoleg was going to be like any kind of prey, it would be one of those voles you like to eat! They have fur on their heads, don't they?" Owostar smiled, keeping his ears pricked. Wouldn't want to miss any of the banter. "Back to the training thing. We're still doing that?" "Why wouldn't we be?" Owlstar retaliated with a smug look of his own, knowing that the other tom wasn't looking forward to the upcoming training. "I don't think Sootpaw's in camp, so we can't start the training I had planned, but there's always time for a quick spar." Owlstar smirked, looking Hemlockshade up and down. "I bet I could totally beat you in a fight" Toby He glanced back at the much larger cat, noting his interest in the birds. They were nice to watch. Turning his gaze back to the path before him, he took a sudden turn. Only a few tail-lengths away, protected by a short stone wall, was the park. It was mostly empty, something that was pretty normal for this time of day, apart from a couple older cats lounging in the sun. "That's Mouse over there, and the cat next to him is Twig. They're pretty nice, they belong to an older pair of housefolk that live a little ways from here." Toby glanced around, noticing that a cat seems to be rather conspicuously absent. "Strange. Looks like Muffin isn't here today. Might've had to go to the vet." Toby looked around once more, making sure there wasn't anything he'd missed. "I was hoping to introduce you to a couple other cats, but they aren't here today." //Thanks! I am feeling better now, I guess it was some kind of random fever lol 1 player likes this post! Like? |

//Random sickness is weird, glad your better! how long did it last?// Jay He nodded along quietly, following Toby's gaze with curiosity glinting behind his eyes. His Raccoon-like tail curled upwards and he debated how approachable these other house cats were.. The Tom's ears pricked up at the mention of "the vet", those cursed words Stinging his ears. His twolegs took him to the vet plenty. It was hardly ever a pleasant experience, in his first few times there the workfolk was just gawping at him and occasionally spiking a sharp thorn into his paws whilst hissing in a weird "shh" sound. 'Oh.. is he okay?' Jay probed, curiosity drawing his short attention in. (Sorry its short i need to sleep soon, early night :( //) 0 players like this post! Like? |

"Ugh." Hemlockshade groans, tone a bit too similar to an apprentice whose just been told to check the elder for ticks. But he really, really does not want to do this. It's ridiculous, and a bad idea. Like the beaver one, but actually worse because he can't just sit this one out. Granted he hadn't sat the beaver one out either, but that was because certain cats made bad choices that forced interference. He gives the other a disinterested look, rolling his eyes. "You're so childish." He grunts, as if he hadn't been borderline whining a second ago. "But when I win -which I will- I get to be leader for the day. And you have to change my nests for the rest of the moon." Not unlike the bets they'd make as apprentices, with Hemlockshade forcing his chores upon the other, or vice versa. Of course, Hemlockshade didn't have any interest in being leader, it was headache enough being a warrior. With that, he springs off of his perch, making sure to flick his tail in the others face while doing so. Despite not wanting to partake in a clan training session, he supposed he'd do a spar. But only because saying no was essentially a loss in on itself - and he wasn't about to lose. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Owlstar He got to his paws, excitement for the upcoming spar showing in his eyes. It had been a bit since he had gotten any good training against a proper rival. Listening to Hemlockshade's whining, Owlstar was vividly reminded of his days training with him back when they were both paws, trying to balance pleasing their mentors with goofing off, and going on adventures around the territory. Fun times. "Oh, please. You sound like a grumbling apprentice." Owlstar smirked, showing off sharp fangs. "You'll be changing my nest for the rest of the season at this rate." Owlstar "accidentally" shouldered his friend, a fitting revenge for the tail flick, before following him down into the clearing. The ground was relatively clear, with most of the cats that were lounging in the clearing being off in the shady patches of by the edges. Perfect. With a rather theatrical growl, Owlstar shifted into a slight crouch, ready to pounce if Hemlockshade decided to make the first move. Toby "I think so? His housefolk are easily worried, and he's had a bit of a cough lately. I'm sure he's fine, though. You should hear him complaining whenever he gets put in his carrier." Toby purred slightly, remembering the first time he had heard the old cat. Toby had been practically scared out his fur, thinking it was a wild cat that had come to eat him. That had been before he'd met Gentlebreeze, of course. //It was only when I woke up, and right before I went to sleep for some reason 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hawktalon "We could, I don't mind." She smiled. "And yeah, we did the borders and I showed him the territory, but besides catching a few pieces of prey we didn't do much else." She stood, ready to get some time out of camp with a cat that wasn't Sootpaw. She figured she could check on him, but she was sure he was napping. She left him alone, and decided to join Crowflight. Sootpaw Sootpaw padded through the territory, looking around. 'Tch. These cats went crazy on the marking. I can't smell anything.' He thought before continuing on. He came to the river, looking at it. He waited, impatiently, for a sign. It was a while before he saw another figure across the river. The darkened silhouette sit, as it was waiting for him to make his way over. With ease, Sootpaw went through the river, swimming against the current to land further down the shore on the other side. He met up with the unknown cat, just for some more... advanced training. He had to do this to prove he was capable of being in Pineclan. 0 players like this post! Like? Crowflight The Tom smiled and nodded.” I’m sure Sootpaw is just napping he certainly won’t mind if just you and I went out.” He stated gently nudging the she cat with his fluffy fur. He stared at her for a moment before he began trotting towards the entrance of camp. He was rather enjoying his time with Hawktalon, he must admit he thought she was a rather nice cat. Palewind The she cat fiddled with a pebble at the entrance of camp, thoughts spinning through her head of still following Gentlebreeze. How much trouble would she get in if she did? She grumbled to herself, couldn’t she do anything right? Couldn’t she have stood up for Gentlebreeze when Owlstar was being rather….angry and upset towards the medicine cat? She glanced around camp, perhaps she could slip away and no one would notice after all Sootpaw wasn’t there and Crowflight and Hawktalon were leaving. "This disrespect to your future leader will not be tolerated." Hemlockshade informs with a hrumph, giving a practiced scowl. He eyes the other, recalling his apprentice days. He was no longer a Shadowclan cat, but the training was still there in the back of his mind. Strike fast and hard, then disappear into the shadows was the fighting style motto; very ominous. He fakes a lunge to the left of the other in a bait, only to pivot at the last second and direct himself at Owlstar's right side instead. He had always found fighting to be a lot like hunting, planning ahead and not being terrible was the key to winning. And Hemlockshade absolutely planned to win. Maybe, if he did, Owlstar would see how great his skills were, and realize that he didn't need to participate in the Starclan forsaken training thing. It wouldn't happen, but it was a nice thought. 0 players like this post! Like? |
