//If you read the first version of this post I updated it a good bit

Owlstar

He rolled with Hemlockshade's blow, managing to land a heavy swipe somewhere near the other tom's ears. He loved the adrenaline that raced through him whenever he fought, especially in a spar like this, where both toms were reasonably well matched. It was already nearly sunhigh, and Owlstar had to squint a little as he kept a careful eye on Hemlockshade, while backing up a little. Best to get some distance now, where he could move in later when Hemlockshade was moving, and hopefully push the other tom off balance. It would probably work better than going for a relatively stationary opponent.

The sun beat down, heating his pelt, and Owlstar dug his claws into the dry dirt covering the clearing. He wouldn't get knocked off his paws again, that was for certain. He lashed his tail, puffing out his chest slightly as he eyed Hemlockshade, wondering what his opponent would do next. One of Owlstar's favorite parts about a one on one spar was the friendly insults. It was a competition, after all. Honestly, part of reason he even challenged cats to a spar, was being able to show off a little, proving that a fight could be more than a means to an end, if done in sport. Owlstar let out a half-threatening growl, the intimidating effect ruined by the slight flash of excitement in his eyes.

Lunging forward, Owlstar returned Hemlockshade's charge, the sound of his pawfalls somewhat muffled by the pine needles that were scattered about the clearing. Instead of going for a feint, Owlstar went for a pounce, attempting to land on Hemlockshade's back, and pin the other cat down, or knock him off balance. Instinctively, Owlstar's claws unsheathed to grip fur as they collided. The scratches wouldn't be deep, but he still felt a little bad. Hemlockshade didn't need any more scars to add to the collection.

Even though he saw it coming, Hemlockshade is still short of breath when the other lands squarely on his back. He feels little pricks when Owlstar's claws dig in, but it's like a mild discomfort, perhaps on the same level of losing his fur to a burr.

"Have twolegs been feeding you or what?" He grunts out, even though the other is nothing like those overweight kittypets. Even so, he's still quite heavy, though Hemlockshade doesn't even try to stand, knowing his paws will no doubt buckle under the additional weight. Instead he opts to throw his body to one side in an attempt to unbalance his friend and knock him off; tucking his paws slightly and letting him roll with the fall.

Owlstar
His pounce ended up working better than expected, and he was forced to jump away as Hemlockshade got free with an unexpected roll. It wasn't the most elegant jump by any means, looking a little worse for wear, but it go the job done. "More like you've gotten weak as a kit!" Owlstar fired back, the slight smile on his muzzle letting Hemlockshade know it wasn't a serious insult. He shook out his coat a little, momentarily distracted in a quick attempt to dislodge a couple of the pineneedles that had gotten tangled in his thick fur. Returning his attention quickly to the battle, Owlstar returned to his half-crouch, ready to retaliate when Hemlockshade inevitably attacked. If the other tom hadn't tried to go for him in a few moments, Owlstar would try and get him while he was down. But he had to be a bit wary. Didn't want to be fooled into taking some kind of bait.

"That's such an apprentice level insult." Hemlockshade rolls his eyes, but is no doubt a hypocrite as he adds on a 'frog-eater' at the end of his sentence. He certainly loosened up a bit when it came to sparring, temporarily allowing the mask of grumpiness to drop in favor of immature insults and good ol fun.

The cream tom rolls his eyes as the other falls into that crouch again. Ever on the defense eh? He decides on a forward charge, crossing the short distance between them quickly. It's not exactly a stealth move, a fact he's sure has his mentor rolling in their grave. But it was less about stealth and engaging the opponent - who in this case was Owlstar. It wasn't a real fight, so he wasn't worried about any of the several lethal attacks one could use to counter the move.

Owlstar

He responded to the latest insult with a laugh, having to move quickly before responding to Hemlockshade's latest move. It wasn't like he could get seriously hurt doing this, after all. Picking up speed a little, he thought about what to do next. The dewicion didn't take long, and in the time it took for Hemlockshade to reach Owlstar, managing to strike him with his front paws, knocking him a little off balance, Owlstar had managed to get out of the way enough that he could quickly retaliate with an attack on Hemlockshade's now exposed flank. It wasn't his best move, and didn't have his normal power behind the blow, but it could help Owlstar get closer to the eventual win.

Nettlesnap

A frown furrowed his expression as he only watched the clearing. Boredom made his joints feel stiff and he could feel his eyes unfocus, resisting a sigh of frustration. He had always been bored back in his beloved barn, now here. Didn't mean he liked it - he was just used to it. But by now he'd run out if things to think about other then insulting the mousebrained clan bloods that talked to him.
The tom tilted his head, watching the brief tussle between the two higher ranked cats, pinning his ears back slightly as he followed their movements, watching blows exchanged with sheathed paws.
How was he supposed to top that? Stupid show offs. He was perfectly fine at combat but they were better. A stab of jealousy pricked his ruffled coat of a pelt and he forced It back, feigning a neutral expression.

Nettlesnap swiped the final scraps of his mouse from his muzzle, shoving the remains carelessly under a fern. He stood up, slowly at first to not draw attention, quickening after he got up and padding quietly out of camp. He wouldn't go too far, just far enough not to have to look at the clan bloods. Like hemlockshade.
Stupid hemlockshade..

The feeling best described as a swat hits his flank, letting him know which way the other slipped. Hemlockshade spins in that direction, having to dig into the ground a little to keep in control of the fast motion; body twisting with the sharp movement.

Using the momentum of the spin, he kicks off with his hind legs, crashing into the other with a leap. Not his cleanest hit, he'll admit, and he hopes he doesn't cause a concussion by just...going to knock the other down like that, but it was planned? Well, planned in the sense that he tried to hold back a little - a feat that's impossible if you're jumping at someone. At the very least, he was making sure the other didn't back away with plans to evade his attacks.

//I keep accidentally posting on my side aaa

Owlstar
He hit the ground somewhat hard, crashing into the pine-needle covered ground with a muffled thud. Hemlockshade had gotten him pinned, there was no way around that. Owlstar had struck too early, or messed up the teqnuiqe somehow, something that definitely would've sent his mentor into fits. There wasn't enough power in his blows, but what could you do? It was a training fight, and with the healer storming out of camp, he didn't want to injure anycat, especially Hemlockshade. The other cats claws were hooked slightly into his fur, keeping him trapped. The fight couldn't be over, not yet. Owlstar noticed his heart racing, even as he tried to force himself to relax. If Hemlockshade thought he had given up, maybe he would loosen his grip a little.

It was definitely sunhigh by now. Owlstar could feel his pelt growing hot, and the sun in his eyes was forcing him to squint a little, the fur on his face spiked up a little from where it had been ruffled by some of the lighter blows. He tried to watch Hemlockshade, looking for a good opening, any little sign of easing up that he could take advantage of. To read an enemy, his mentor, Houndcry, had always drilled into him, he had to watch the eyes. But as he looked up at Hemlockshade's eyes, a much darker green than his own, Owlstar noticed his attention slipping a little. Quickly, he glanced away, ears flattening slightly.

Gentlebreeze

The flame pointed siamese's tail lashed behind her. She was deep in thought as she trudged through the forest. How dare Owlstar speak to her like that? He was just a stubborn, irritating leader. She didn't need to live in a clan where she lived in fear of the tom. Gentlebreeze would stay with Toby until the leader got a grip. She shook her head, ridding herself of the thoughts of Owlstar

She wouldn't think of eating the pellets that Toby did. Gentlebreeze could hunt for herself. The medicine cat did know how to hunt, just never did. Now was the time to put her skills to the test. She opened her maw, letting scents bathe her senses. The familiar, tantalizing scent of a mouse hit her. The medicine cat immediately began stalking the scent, her ears perked and paw steps completely silent. A couple moments passed before she heard the scuttling of a mouse foraging through the undergrowth. Her pupils dilated and she spotted the small fuzzy creature with it's back turned towards her.

Gentlebreeze crouched down, and began stalking forward. Her focus was completely on the rodent. She forgot to keep her tail just above the ground, and it rustled the leaves on the ground. The mouse immediately looked over, twitching its tiny nose. The mouse turned around, and darted away. Gentlebreeze sprang up, chasing the small creature. She barely caught its tail, before delivering a lethal nip to the spine. The flame pointed siamese quickly grabbed her prize, before resuming the walk towards the twoleg-place. She had to admit that pounce was pretty sloppy, and she needed to remember to keep her tail just above the ground.

---

The flame pointed siamese spotted the points of the twoleg nests, and her whiskers twitched with excitement. She stopped herself. There was no reason to be excited to enter the twoleg place. She was only here for Toby, nothing else. Gentlebreeze lifted a paw and continued. Her pink paw pads flashing with each step. Her tail puffed up as she heard the resounding bark of a dog. The dogs barks seemed to get louder, seeming to get closer. The sound of paws scratching against the wooden boards of the twoleg barriers (fences) almost soothed her. She sighed softly, reassured the canine wouldn't be able to reach her.

A couple minutes passed before she spotted the familiar barriers of Toby's nest. She mrrowed happily, before clawing up the wood. She stood perched on the wood as she looked around for Toby. There was no sign of him, and the only scent she could catch was somewhat stale, almost as if he'd left a while ago. The siamese leaped down the wood, landing perfectly on the soft grass. The shelter she and Toby had slept in last night was still there, but the nest was gone.

The sound of something opening alarmed her, and a twoleg stood at the door of Toby's nest. Staring right at Gentlebreeze.

Ha! Got him!

Hemlockshade was quite pleased with himself, even if he felt a tad guilty about knocking him down so hard. He'd have to apologize later. Or, perhaps he could put slightly less burrs in his nest then what was originally planned. Perhaps some slight cooperation for the training session was in order? But that was for later, now he was perfectly allowed to gloat. Because even if it would be short lived, he'd still pinned the other. And that counted for something.

"Feel free to give up anytime" He remarks, keeping his hold firm but careful to shift his weight so he wasn't pressing down quite so hard.

This new position causes him to look down at the other, playing up the voice of an arrogant apprentice. Owlstar is looking at him in a way that does not suggest defeat, and he locks his gaze with the other in challenge until the other eventually looks away.

Despite earlier protests, Hemlockshade isn't hating this. The sun beating down on his fur makes him feel pretty warm, like the blood in his veins is supercharged; bursting in his chest. An adrenaline rush, if he could guess.

Owlstar
Looking up at Hemlockshade's pleased smirk, Owlstar growled playfully, managing to get one of his paws free in order to bat at Hemlockshade's face. He refused to go down this easily! In an attempt to get free, Owlstar went limp, waiting until Hemlockshade had loosened his grip just enough for him to wiggle free, hooking his claws into the soil and just managing to slip away. Shaking the dirt from his coat, Owlstar lunged forward, attempting to pin Hemlockshade down in a similar way. It would make victory so much better, if he could get Hemlockshade with the move he had managed to escape from. They traded a few blows, Hemlockshade getting the jump on him with a heavy swipe to the jaw.

This time, Owlstar didn't feel nearly as bad when the other tom hit the dirt. A smug grin on his muzzle, Owlstar leaned down, brushing his tail across Hemlockshade's throat in the classic 'you're dead' gesture. "Who's winning now?" Owlstar allowed himself a couple moments to gloat, but he knew that things could very quickly flip again. If he really wanted to win this, he'd have to be careful.

Hemlockshade gives a grumble when the other slips away from a fish. "Cheater." He complains, because had Owlstar just given up there, he would've won. But no, let him prolong the loss that was coming for him.

At the very least, he gets a few good swats in; claws sheathed of course. Though he got a few hits landed on him, and it was clear that the other could do some real damage if he tried; he was certainly strong.

And fast too. Hemlockshade hits the ground with a grunt, alright imagining how annoying it would be to clean himself after this. He had always sort of envied darker coated felines, dirt didn't show nearly as easily in their fur. Hopefully he had time for a quick groom before the training session occured.

Another grumble comes from him as Owlstar has the audacity to brush his tail against his throat - and Hemlockshade cannot let that slide. So he tucks a hind leg in before kicking the other hard in the leg to knock him off balance; lunging forward to wrestle for who was going to pin who. Grooming would be a pain, but no doubt it'd be worth it.

Palewind

The she cat watched Hemlockshade and Owlstar for a moment." That's it I'm going to go after Gentlebreeze." she stated to no one in particular as she didn't even bother waiting for anyone to notice her leaving. She trotted rather quickly out of camp and began following Gentlebreezes scent. Given everything that had happened she was rather worried. She made her pace faster to where she was basically running after Gentlebreeze's scent. She had a million thoughts running through her head about where Gentlebreeze was going seeing as how the scent was moving towards the Twoleg place. She was rather obviously worried as she continued following the scent.

Owlstar

He hissed slightly as Hemlockshade knocked him off balance, and was just able to get to his paws in time to meet Hemlockshade without being pinned imedatly. The spar, which had been mostly made up of carefully executed moves, had somewhat devolved into a wrestling match, both cats trying to force eachother to the ground. Houndcry would've cried real tears, but it was surprisingly fun. He had a slight advantage, his bulkier frame allowing him to get a little more power behind his strikes, but it definitely wasn't anything to bank on. At least it wouldn't be too difficult to get all the pine needles out once this was over. Making sure his claws were completely sheathed, Owlstar began to focus his attacks a bit more. However, he was distracted for a moment by Palewind leaving camp. Fox-dung. Why were his warriors always possessed with the urge to leave camp the moment he wanted to get something done?

Hawktalon

She noticed she was being a worrisome big sister, and brushed it off. "You're right." She went with Crowflight, following him to the entrance of the camp. As she went through the entrance, it made it easier for her to see the sky through the trees. The dark clouds in the distance visible to her. "Let's hope that rain doesn't come our way huh." She chuckled.

((Struggling to think of responses my brains been fried for a few days lol, sorry it's short))
