Biography
Tiberias is Iago's friend; the prince found the young male wandering about a dried waterhole, subsisting on small prey and sleeping amidst brambles. Both were young, still cubs in truth, and Iago found in Tiberias a strong and playful brother, a fiercely loyal friend. Iago brought Tiberias before his feared father, offering him as a extra set of paws to help patrol the kingdom, and surprisingly, Actaeon agreed to take him into the fold. No doubt the Queen's paw was in this, for she often watched Tiberias with a solicitous eye, but for now the young lion is happy, with his new brother and a family of beautiful lionesses to accept him.
---------------------
The young male has grown to become a formidable warrior, strong and swift, and completely accepted into the pride. He is often seen now as a hero to the others, as one of his more notorious achievements while on patrol was saving Kitona and Litane from a particularly vicious loner lion. The lionesses fawn over Tiberias's rippling muscles and fine pelt, so much so that Iago is starting to feel a little jealous of his beloved brother, but the male has professed undying loyalty to Iago, and the black prince is inclined to believe him. Life for Tiberias is good; he lives in a strong family, with a good brother, a dying father, and beautiful females.
--------------------
The hated king Actaeon has finally gone to live amongst the stars, and incumbent heir Iago has taken his place, to be forever called Rex Iago Ater. There is great joy within the pride at this new leader, this generous, just ruler who seemed to be as flawless as Actaeon had been twisted, but Tiberias is torn. He loves his brother and is immensely happy that the kingship has fallen upon him, but the green flame of jealousy has been kindled within his heart. There is a small part of the young lion that wishes he had been born earlier, and not an orphan bastard adopted into the pride, but a true son with a legitimate claim to the throne. There is no hope for his ambition to flourish, however, and Tiberias masks it well, roaring allegiance to Iago at every opportunity. And yet, he patrols longer, explores further, trains from sunup to sundown, as though he were waiting for the perfect moment...
------------------
Tiberias loved Kitona, and she loved him back. Their love burned bright, and often Tiberias would steal away illicitly with the beautiful lioness, for according to tradition the submale was not allowed to even look at the pride's females. So naturally when Iago found out, he was heartbroken, and accused Tiberias of breaking pride customs, and even worse, the sacred bond between brothers. Their quarrel lasted an entire night, keeping the pride up with their tremendous roars and growls, and afterwards the two titans went their separate ways. They would not speak to each other for weeks, but out of respect for the king Tiberias broke away from Kitona, much to his chagrin, and continued to serve his brother loyally.
