Mercury is the first lioness in the new pride to bare Cubs with Velveteen. She is extremely trusting of the new King after he stopped Helos from killing her when she refused to have Cubs for him. Mercury's litter included one boy and one girl, and at first refused to let Velveteen see them afraid that he would kill the boy. Velveteen assured her that he would not kill the cub, and was overjoyed to have a son. However Velveteen decided that they would wait to name the Cubs until they were 5 months old, as per tradition in his birth pride. Mercury's Cubs are named Coco, and Ironwood.
