You approach the gold-orange and brown lioness and she looks up at you, her blue eyes uncertain, slightly fearful and curious. "Hello," She murmers. "I'm Mrembo, who are you?" Mrembo looks as if she'd like to stretch forwards and sniff you but isn't sure she'd leave with all her fur still intact. You notice this lioness has several permanent scars that appear to have come from other lions long ago. You lay down and curl your tail around your hindpaws as you state your name, silently expressing you don't wish to hurt the lioness. Hesitantly, Mrembo gathers the confidence to stretch forwards and sniff you, she herself smells like morning dew. As Mrembo's fur brushes yours you notice it's tremendously soft as if it had been cleaned and softened until Mrembo seemed like an overgrown housecat. Mrembo steps backwards and lays down as well, calmer now that she's given you a good sniff evaluation. Mrembo lowers her head in a way that's more tired than submissive. You ask her if you should go but she says it's alright, she was out hunting, that's all. You converse with Mrembo a bit before she gives you a more serious look. "You want to know what happened to me, don't you?" She asks solemnly. You hadn't realized your gaze had been trailing over her scars but you realize it was. Before you could think of a good response Mrembo says "You'll probably hear in the next 5 minutes anyway so why not tell you now?" She allows a bit of laughter into her voice. You watch Mrembo as her blue eyes gaze right through you and into a dimension of memories. "Four dry seasons ago, my pride was attacked by humans." Mrembo says suddenly. "Not necessarily attacked at first but they were destroying our homes so, we ``Attacked`` back." "The humans had guns, dogs, machines, all sorts of rubbish." Mrembo said.. More so spat scornfully. "In the end, nobody could really tell what they were doing through the human smoke, lions were hurting eachother and humans were hurting lions." You give Mrembo a sympathetic look, she smiles and says "Don't worry about me, in all honesty, I got it easy." she purrs softly, her voice almost fading into the sounds of wildlife outside. Even after that story, you wonder why her fur is so soft.. More human interference maybe..? you decide not to dwell on it and get up, telling Mrembo you should go. "Oh, alright" she says and hesitates before rubbing her head against yours as you leave.
Props to you if you read all this xD
