She brushed him off for a few months, hoping he'd lose interest, but he never did. At first, she put him through rigorous obstacles and set impossible goals. Determined to show her he was worthy, Fizz ate up the abuse and pushed himself. Impressed with his determination, she decided to train him correctly. His teen year seemed to fly by, and as he grew older, his crush on Athena deepened. Within his first adult year, Athena finally relented her heart to him, a feat that left other pride members' jaws hanging. When this year's championships came up, they entered alongside their fathers in 2's matches. They didn't get very far, as they also enjoyed hanging with the other young lions and building up their relationship.
