Elder Queen Makini

Makini is the firstborn to Queen Adannaya and King Awa-bariki. She becomes leader of the secondary hunting party, and well respected despite not inheriting the throne. Her parents are both older, and although they try to have more children together, they resolved that if they can't then they must set up a mate for their princess. Thus, the tradition of betrothal is born. However though most see it as a business deal, the king and queen are very careful with their young daughter and make certain to only officiate the betrothal when they are certain that she loves him and it is not just for show. When Haraka and Makini get along, Awa and Ada make the betrothal official.
Makini's younger half brother Moha officially inherits their father's throne, but over half the pride dies after a disease strikes the land. He survived for almost a season, but the illness eventually takes him as well. He leaves behind infant daughter Eeru, and for a few days the pride is completely lost with what to do.

Makini steps forward and takes the throne, co-ruling with Haraka. They bring up the princess Eeru, and swear to keep her safe and guarded until she comes of age and is ready to ascend the throne. However, when Makini and Haraka are blessed in the way of family early on in their reign when Eeru is a young teenager, the land nearly dissolves into chaos. By birthright, Eeru owns the throne, however the confusion on what to title the new royal child shakes the pride- after all, Makini is the queen now, shouldn't her children be the princes and princesses of the land? However, Makini settles the matter firmly once recovered from birth, declaring the only heir to the Land will be Eeru, no matter how many children she and Haraka bear.
Makini only has the one cub- daughter Maharlika.
Makini and Haraka become the queen and king revered decades after death, responsible for raising their niece Queen Eeru.
When she and Haraka pass the crown on, Eeru becomes a broodmam to her great-nieces and nephews, children of Eeru and Ahadi.
