She lures those who dare approach her vestigial waters, murmuring promises of safety and affection. As her victims step into her domain, she draws them in, chaining them in her bindings and dragging them down, where their cries will be silenced by their life draining from their body.

Desperation. Each victim always pulses brightly with desperation, even to their last moments, even as their air is replaced with water. They struggle amongst the bonds that chain them, and each time, I relish the acceptance and defeat that overtakes their sluggish limbs.
I have been alive for longer than even I can remember. Their memories cloud my brain, but I remember. I remember drowning with my parents, until I wasn't anymore. Whatever it was that took me that cold night, it gave me a renewed purpose. Sacrifices so the gods stay where they are.

But you have listened too long now. Why don't you come on down and we can chat more...? I'll even sing you the last verse of my songspell. Stay a while, why don't you...?
π
