Elder Queen Eeru

Eeru is daughter to Mohatu, and the heiress of the pridelands. She's barely out of cubhood before an illness takes her father, brother, and most of her pride. Her aunt Makini and Uncle become the crowned rulers while Eeru comes of age, and she becomes betrothed to Ahadi. By the time she's nearly 4.5 years old, she's ready to ascend the throne.
Eeru takes the throne at age 4yr 6mo, and as the next season turns over she's excited to announce she and Ahadi are expecting their first litter. The kingdom is clamoring for a male heir, and the pride is hopeful when the Mandrills announce the queen is carrying multiple cubs. However, while Eeru and Ahadi are overjoyed at the births of three perfectly healthy daughters, the pride and kingdom are at unrest.
Eeru and Ahadi have as many cubs as they can, immediately becoming pregnant as soon as she comes into heat when their daughters reach their teens. They add two more daughters to the royal line, and as soon as Eeru comes into season again - now at age 8 1/2- she and Ahadi greet one more child- another daughter, or so they thought. Calling her Takata, they are surprised at her presentation when the Kings of the past cloud the sky and lightning rains down on pride rock. A loud wail from the newborn cub splits the air and suddenly the Mandrill performing the ceremony announces the child is no longer female, but male.
