Persimon was placed up for trade by her previous pride. They were overcrowding and her mate preferred her cubs to her. She had little experience in hunting, so she was worth more as an item to be sold. Amotlapal, thinking the elder lioness beautiful, offered her a warm cave to stay in, in return for her help caring for the young and serving as main huntress for the pride.
