Vainglorious

In the beginning, Yana was far from the bloodthirsty tyrant who he would one day become. He was a kind, caring lion who was far from the tyrant Pōwehi that had previously ruled the land he called home. By all accounts, Yana was seen as rather pathetic by the rest of his pride. The Vainglorious One, the malevolent alter ego of Yana, was yet to appear. However, one day his attitude changed completely and his fur began to change too, as did his eyes. His appearance had become nearly identical to that of Pōwehi. His sanity was beginning to deteriorate and soon he fully embraced this descent into madness. He was practically unrecognizable as who he was before he became who he did. He would no longer go by the name of Yana… oh no… that was a thing of the past. A far cry from the masterpiece he had become. His manic laughter broke the silence of the night as he scaled the great spire of corpses, a dark energy crackling within his heart. The old fool, Yana, was no more… only the master, Vainglorious, remained.
