Regardless of how their father agreed to lend them to this new fledgling pride, he had ambitions to either overthrow the current King or bide his time and steal away with some of the other lionesses and start his own. He could care less about the well being of the pride unless they were strong and capable. Weaklings had no right to be in the pride.
