Roche

She is a beautiful snow leopard x Asiatic lion mix (2nd gen), and part of a conservation program tracking her movement through the Himalayas. Often caught on a wildlife camera placed by the Indian scientist running the program, she was recently showing visible signs of pregnancy, which, if the cubs survive the winter, would be a wonderful step towards increasing this rare hybrid population.

Update:
after these sightings it has been confirmed that Roche has had 2 successful litters, with 1 cub surviving in each litter.

Her older daughter, Dun, as being fathered by a full-blooded Asiatic lion exhibits more of the stream line features of a lion which are more adapted to lower and warmer areas. Once the cub hit 3 years, she moved from the mountains where she was raised down into more appropriate land scapes, and as such out side of the remit of this conservation research program.

Roche's second and youngest daughter, born in one of Roches last few breeding seasons, was herself fathered by another 2nd gen snow leopard x Asiatic Lion hybrid, and as such resembles her mother greatly. Peddle was introduced into the tracking program early, and although still a cub, will soon be continuing her ageing mother's legacy.
