Artaxias - ♂ - Emperor of the Catuli Pride
Artaxias is the elder brother of Mystere and Deidre; the mate of Bastet; and the father of many.
Artaxias was born to an incredibly loving lioness, Seraphina, and an indifferent father, Monty. Growing up, Artaxias was raised to take over his father's position as King, leaving his brothers to live in his shadow. He understands why they resented him, but what he doesn't understand is why they don't see his side of things. Monty was harsh on Artaxias, for he had a vision of what his eldest son should be - loyal, courageous, and intelligent; a true leader. Artaxias was all three, but the difference was that he didn't want to take over his father's position. Artaxias hated his pride with a fiery passion. The lot of them wanted nothing to do with you unless you had something they wanted, and Artaxias downright refused to lead a group of lions such as that. The resentment between him and his father only grew, so it's no surprise that Artaxias felt nothing when the pride perished in the fire. Luckily, he has able to get him and his brothers out alive, and the only tragic death that occurred that night was the passing of Seraphina.
Artaxias attempted to raise his younger brothers the best he could, but it was all too noticeable that they didn't like him. Eventually, the trio went their own ways, and Artaxias was a rogue. He didn't mind, though - he was free to do as he wished, whenever he wanted, wherever he wanted.
Bastet was a gift sent from the heavens, for when they met, Artaxias immediately fell head-over-heels for her. She had a sharp tongue, a brilliant mind, and a clear conscience. It didn't take long for the two to hook up, and when Bastet broke the news to Artaxias that she was pregnant, he decided to begin a pride with her. It started out with just the two and them, and then a few outsiders joined, and from there it grew.
