The High Priest
As you walk through the territory of the coven, there's an erie feel to the air and the scent of fresh blood never seems to fade, despite no kill being visible. The overwhelming silence begins to get to you as you feel another shiver run through your spine. "Trespasser!" A deep male voice growls out. You both visibly freeze and jump at the same time. Who was that? you wonder as you canvass the tall grass around you. Strange. The voice sounded as if it screamed in your ear, yet no male lion is in sight. You walk a little further only to be cut off by a rather colorful primal cub. His attire is offputting to say the least but it's his eyes that draw you in, even though you don't see them, you can feel their intensity. So much so you feel dazed, as if walking in a dream. You shake your head to bring back your focus as the cub speaks. "What foolishness has lead you to the lands of Vilarus, the bone collector?!" The cubs mouth does not open but you hear the deep male's voice from before once more only this time you realise, the voice is coming from within your own head. You turn to run, instinct taking over. Everything goes dark as you wake up near a stream, the air smells refreshing but your head is throbbing. No, not your head, but your jaw. It's swollen. Something feels different, are you missing a tooth?!
Vilarus is the High priest and king of the coven. He is known for his lack of patience and his low tolerance to outsiders, particularly males. It is not recommended to visit the coven's land without a clear purpose and a gift. Bones, blood, meat or even one of your own cubs is recommended. Vilarus is a powerful priest who specializes in shapeshifting and is said to never appear to the one lion twice in the same form. Vilarus will direct his magick abilities to work in your favor for the right price however, that can be steep. He can be won over with the present of beautiful lionesses, cubs, and particularly large collections of skulls, though you must bring him one he does not already poses. Maybe one of the first two listed would have better luck?
Vilarus was discovered as a cub by the oracle Rowin, who led the coven from it's formation which has been lost to history, as Rowin was known to be mute most of his life. It is said Vilarus was found motionless and cold, only to be brought back to life by Rowin during one of his prolonged vision quests. Others say Vilarus was born of a barren lioness and fathered by Rowin himself, and yet even some say they witnessed Vilarus was born of the blood of a pregnant lioness who'd passed before giving birth. Vilarus can not confirm or deny any of these stories as he honestly does not know.
