King Virgil was a very good king. He was a special king, with a pelt the color of ebony wood and eyes of a vibrant violet, although everyone knew they were blue. He kept dark lionesses, though the pride wasn't only for breeding, many came to the mountains he reigned over for protection and food, and he was very proud of the areas of which he cultivated and ruled. One day, however, a special lion came to visit the pride. He had fur like crackling ice and zephyr's that flurried across the land, for he had brought winter with his icey pelt. Virgil had fallen head over tail for this strange, mysterious King and went missing for months on end just to talk to him. One fateful morning, a fog settled over the pride as they awaited their king's return, and a faint shape appeared in the mist. Virgil was carrying a young cub, a female with eyes like paradise and fur like the cloudy morning she was born on. None of the lions in the pride understood how Virgil, a king himself, had produced a cub with Elysian fur with a king of Ice, but the cub was adored. Where ever she walked, the sunlight and moonlight seemed to glimmer off her pelt like streaks of iridescent algae in a moonlit pond. She was named Dusk. Then Virgil died. Dusk is a peculiar lion. She has never quite been like the other lionesses in the pride, and when her father, Virgil, died, her heart was broken into a million pieces. The members of the pride around her named her the queen, because Virgil had never had any sons, which they all though was a bit strange. Nevertheless, Dusk reigns over the pride like a gentle lullaby, which swells to protect the innocent and damns the evil. She has contact with the Goddess of the Moon, the deity of which allowed her birth and one who loves her like a mother would any cub. She's kept many tabs on the deities and whispers that surround the mountains and the groves above, and sees no use for fighting. Welcome to the Pride of the Moonblessed Mountain, of the Sunlit Groves, and of the Twilight Caverns. They welcome you.
