WOO!!! Kinged on 6/4/2020, 10:30am, Thursday, at three years and eight months. Upon being appointed leader and getting his lives, Nameless was given the name "Ibisstar", in honor of Bast, who vowed to help him as she helped Phoenixstar (during the June event, whereupon I chose Bast).

It was a cloudy day, one that promised a storm at some point. However, the Pride had no time to delay. All over the clearing, lions, lionesses, and cubs gathered around a large rock. Murmurs, whispers, and sighs echoed.
After a few minutes, an elderly-looking lion, one with a chaotic pelt and icey mane, climbed onto the rock. Seventy-one pairs of eyes stared at him, and the weight of his announcement felt like lead.
A new leader.
A few nights prior, Phoenixstar (formerly Winterstar) had encountered one of the slithering demons currently plaguing the land. He'd fought valiantly, but was severely injured. Thanks to Bast, he quickly healed, but... He knew his time as leader and king was finished.
Discussing his plans with Bast as she healed him, he knew his options.
Bakari, the elderly lion from Daudi's reign. He would have made an excellent leader, if he were in his prime. However, the caramel male was simply too old, at a respectable fourteen years and ten months. And, even if he were youthful again, he had no such desire to rule.
Mottledskip was another sub-male, but the thought of him as leader made Phoenix shudder. The large sienna lion was evil, and wouldn't hesitate to kill if it benefited himself.
That left the last sub-male, a three-year, eight-month lion with patches the color of a deep-black night sky. He, too, was evil, but showed potential for the kindheartedness the Pride of Legends needed.
That brings us to now.
"As all of you know, we are gathered here to bear witness to a new leader. It has been many a-year that I have watched over this pride, but my time has come to an end. I cannot say how honored and proud I am of you. Of all of you I've met. Of the cubs I watched grow, and of the elders I laid by. Of the new and old faces. Of those who join, and of those passing through.
"So it is with a heavy heart that I bid you my farewell. After this, I shall be joining the elders' cave, to live out the rest of my days in peace."
Phoenix took a deep, shaky breath, wiping away tears.
"However, it is not the time to grieve! For, with my leaving, a new leader shall take my place! After long days and nights of thinking it over, I have decided that Nameless shall be the next king! Nameless, my boy, please come forward."
A young male, his pelt seeming to shimmer with golden dust, stepped forward. His green mane was puffed up, and he was clearly taken aback by the news.
"Phoenixstar, my leader and lord, and you sure of this choice?"
The elder nodded, beckoning him to hop onto the rock.
"Nameless, I bought you from a trader when you were a yearling. You looked so different from now; pale, malnourished, and hateful. However, these past two years of training you have brought a gentler side of you out, and I wish to see it grow.
"I love you as I love my own cubs, and I trust you the same. The goddess, Bast, has given me her blessing, as well. Therefore, from this moment and ever-more, you shall be known as Ibisstar. Honor Bast, honor your name, and honor your heart.
"I cannot wait to see you grow as a king."
With the last word spoken, Phoenixstar touched his nose to Ibis' forehead, then bored.
All around, voices cheered for the new leader.
