!!!PSA!!! I ASK AND PLEAD you do NOT CHASE/KILL my cubs!! If you no longer want them, I will happily take them from you. PLEASE don't get rid of them!! base changed: nefer - 6/28/23 (shooting for ra) (see my side, linked in my den page, for first part of the story ;) you open your eyes, filled with tears, to see two big paws, soft and white as snow before you. the sweet smell of fruit, and gentle blossoms at sunset fill your nose, surrounding you like your mother's fur. you relax in it, and breathe it in deeply, realizing that your body no longer feels wet, it no longer aches, and it feels light as a feather. you lift your gaze to a smiling face. she is beautiful. more beautiful than any creature you have ever seen before. her kind eyes, her thick, fuzzy pelt, untouched by the carnage that plagued your pride. two glowing wings flow from her back, stretching out to shield you from any more danger there is to come. she speaks to you, almost like a whisper, smooth as wind: "hello little one. do not fear, i have come to find you. your pride awaits you, y/n." she knows your name..your pride- where is your pride!? you see the outlines of your mother, your siblings, your leader- they're all here!! they've found you!! the heaviness leaves your body as you scramble to your feet, and run to your mother, brushing past the soft feathers of the lioness's wings. her scent comforts you, tongue scraping over you while she mrrows and fusses. she has wings too, you realize- everyone does. and you realize you do too, albeit small, but just big enough to carry your tiny frame. "come now. let us go. " the larger, pink lioness purrs, and she leaps into the sky, the clouds parting to reveal the heavens above, yellow light pouring down as you see more lions gathering far into the sky to join her. your mother nudges you, and with a grace unbeknownst to you, your wings flap as if they were always with you, and you tail your siblings as you had sunsets and sunrises before. you run fast and far, light as a feather, into the heavens above, and the world swirls to nothing as you ascend to paradise.
