It was only when they began to leave him alone that he began to lose control of himself—and this is when the demon residing within him became active. It is said that every king has a demon residing in them—a demonic spirit that wishes for revenge for past wrongs committed against it by other lions or creatures. That is what happened in this case; when lions began to turn away from him and treat him like an outsider rather than a member of their tribe, it caused his demonic spirit to come out into full force.
