Kafu wandered into Feng's territory by mistake, while he was following the fragrant scent of a lioness in heat. He didn't have a territory of his own, but he was a strong and wise male already, and he chose to discuss with Feng, instead of fight. He'd been hanging out in a hot pool with some other males he'd met when the ageing Feng first saw him, but it wasn't the last time. He traversed that territory many times before Feng offered him a proposition he couldn't refuse: Come stay in the territory, and see if the females would accept him as a successor... and take his place as pride leader so Feng could sit back and enjoy his last years, worry-free. Needless to say, he accepted! In fact... the PRIDE accepted HIM too! He was well pleased to take long walks with Feng, learning the ins and outs of the territory, the lionesses, and the allies Feng had built up.
