Pinks and blues that had been unseen graced his fur, and Samros stood proud over the innocent life mewling at his paws. Briggs and his mother were placed under protection. Such a rare life must be preserved, as decreed by the ancient lions of the lands. Though it seemed Briggs had been doubly blessed. The spirit of Oias flowed in his veins as he grew and began to play. Energy and mischief, a warm and loving heart that neither followed the bloodied path of his father nor walked purely in the light. What needed to be done was done and that was as it was. As he grew, he shifted to the care of Koi Heart, aging and on the verge of retirement so he could begin his training as Heir. It should have been the last cub he trained and then he lived in peace. Unas, sadly, needed to call him home sooner. Koi Heart passed on patrol, his spirit leaving in the night and Briggs had to bring the news to his father. King and Heir mourned together, for he had been a mentor to both. But as Diasis returns life to the lands after the drought, so must the grieving return to the world. Briggs trained on his own, honing his skills and traveling the path of the Founding Roar until the time came to take over the pride. Briggs ascended as Samros stepped to the side. The bloodied king was allowed to return to the cubs he loved, playing with the precious lives as his Son's roar echoed over the plains, claiming it as his own.
