Octavinelle was not born in this pride. He grew up with his fellow siblings in this pride until he was an adolescent. One day his king led him to a large tree with many lions trying to sell their goods. Octavinelle figured his king was trying to show him the ropes for when he took over. His king approached a large red primal lion. "Jamil," the king greeted. Jamil smiled warmly and handed over a lot of beetles. Octavinelle then waited for his king to hand something else over. It had to be something cool with all that money. Suddenly his king pushed him towards the red lion. Surprised he stumbled and fell. Octavinelle looked up but his king was already gone. Jamil nudged Octavinelle up and Jamil softly explained what happened to him. As Jamil started to walk to his pride, "Your king sold you to my pride to become my heir. What is your name young one?" Octavinelle looked up at him and stayed silent. "Oh, well I guess I will have to just call you Jellyfish!" The older lion smiled content with the name. Octavinelle thought it was a stupid name, but did not want to speak up.
When they arrived at Jamil's territory he quickly met the rest of the pride. He was quickly accepted by almost all the lions, but one, Peach. Now Peach does not sound intimidating, but he was a large Felis and the son of Jamil. Peach was jealous of "Jellyfish". He was supposed to be the next king before he came along. Peach was normally a very nice lion, but not to Octavinelle. He would constantly trip him and tackle him pretending to be wrestling. Octavinelle had to deal with this for a few months, but when he became an adult Peach backed off a bit. Life was good for a while until Jamil decided to step down. He talked to both Octavinelle and Peach. "Peach, Jellyfish, I am getting older and cannot keep up anymore. I have enjoyed my time watching both of you grow, but I have made my decision on my heir." Peach puffed up hopefully it was him. "Peach, as much as I love you as my son. I have decided that Jellyfish is the best decision. See I am inbred and do not want my dirtiness to continue to spread. Some day you may be able to take over Vil's pride, but not today." Octavinelle was conflicted. He always knew that he would take over, but he never wanted to. Peach sulked off, and Jamil just shook his head and walked away.
The next day the pride held the ceremony, and as Jamil stepped down, "Jellyfish" was allowed to take a new name. He took the name Octavinelle. Peach was not seen for a few days after but came back after hearing his dad was in poor health. He spent as much time with him as he could. A few months later Jamil passed away. Peach never bothered Octavinelle after.
