, the Deathlord of the Jungle

After being forced out of his natural pride like many of his brothers, Sifiso chooses to strike out on his own instead of hanging around with the other bachelors in search of a pride. Less competition to be fighting over girls and more chances of being one's own leader without having to deal with some upstarts or unfair squabbles. One scent blown by the desert winds catches his interest and Sifiso races off before anyone else gets the same idea, but sands just reveals disappointment. There were lions here, a lot of them, once long ago. Now there's only a very lonely and elderly king, far too weak to fight and looks to die any day, so it's only a matter of time to waiting while also making sure to mark the territory as claimed.

The old king notices Sifiso but does not say much or even make gestures for the upstart to run off. Often inviting him close and offering what food the old lion could get his claws on. It seems that the king is senile and mistakes Sifiso for a long-lost son from one of the previous lionesses that once lived here. While wary, Sifiso makes himself comfortable in the territory and just waits as the older male calls out for females that should make better company for "his son". Sometimes the old king seems to come in and out of insanity to try and scare Sifiso off, but fails. The more they come, the more Sifiso has to ensure his stories are straight in order to keep the older male into believing he is his son and the lionesses into fawning over a dutiful son. At times, Sifiso ensures the old lion keeps his attention on the younger male to him from having his way with the pretty girls until it is clear that the king is unable to do much else but lie around and eat.

However, when all things seemed well, the old king snapped and killed off some of the lionesses which forces Sifiso to fight him and eventually take over as the lead lion with a single lioness left. Once the old king is disposed of and a new king is secured, Sifiso is on a mission to bring in as many lions who are willing to join him whether they are alone or wanting to leave their own prides.
