Biography
Vanir was adopted into the pride at the age of two* by the Queen Black Roses, known as "Lady Black" around the pride. On the way home, they ran into the elderly king, Krayne, the pride's semi-ally, for lack of females in the other males pride if nothing else. Krayne was dying any day, that much Lady Black could smell, and Vanir picked up quickly. They exchanged pleasantries and parted ways then. He walked to Adrastus territory, and greeted the slightly mad king, noticing his lack of attention, and taking notes. That evening, he began talking to some of the prides younger lionesses, all around his age. He offered them peace and land if they would follow him to Krayne's territory as he took the dying king's throne. They were hesitant and none of them answered him immediately. They talked for so long, the sun set and rose, and at dawn they each snuck off to their sleeping den, careful not to wake the others. Lady Black, however, was not fooled. She spied the young male, knowing what they were capable of. Knowing none of them were quite old enough to be in season, she feared much worse, and she was right. Once Krayne passed, peacefully in his sleep one rainy night, Vanir took the throne, and changed his name to Kynderyn, which is ancient celtic for "Battle Lord".
