Born in a ruthless pride, Hylende never learned a kind touch like the king that took him in had. He is basically mute, even though he tends to stay on patrol to keep his lands safe. He is known to have fits of anger if lionesses fail to bring in food, mostly from his large amounts of paranoia about the pride dying out. Helice sent him to Feir as a adolescent, making sure he was groomed to be the pride's king. He took over soon as Feir deemed him able. Feir made sure he knew the entire land and its dangers before leaving in the middle of the night. Never seen again. Hylende is paranoid and quiet. But he keeps his own safe.
