Kveth wasn´t born as a Prince, a Princess, nor did they have royal blood in their veins. Their mother was a humble lioness who grew up in the pride and served as a huntress under the reign of King Æsahættr. As a young adult, she met a stranger whom she flirted with and never saw again, and gave birth to a single cub few months after. She named them Kveth, and loved them instantly.
Kveth grew up under Æsahættr ´s reign and lived a life similar to those of many youngs. They weren´t the most social and liked to spend time alone, but still has many friends. Their future as a hunter seemed already written, as they had some good skills. They were training with their mother, but also liked to spend time learning about other ranks. Every of them seemed interesting to Kveth who was craving knoweldge.
King Æsahættr noticed that personnality trait in Kveth. They often kept a distant eye on them. He seemed to see something in that kid. Potential. That´s what he saw in the teenager.
One day, he called Cedar Leaf and Kveth to discuss of an important matter with them. He told them about his own children. Some had left their family to claim a territory and a pride of their own. Others did remain in the pride, but they either weren´t interested in the crown, or their personnalities didn´t fit that of an heir.. His cubs to be born? They would be too youngs once his time would come. He would not have the time to teach them.
At first Kveth didn´t understand. Did Æsahættr seek advices from his subjects? They were kind of lost, until the King made them an offer. He told Kveth he often observed them during the past months. Their behavior, their evolution. And he was sure of him when he told the two felines that Kveth should be his successor
And that's how Kveth became Royal. It took quite sometimes for them to get used to it. To the titles, to the manners, to politics. And this was only the beginning...

Très vite, Kveth suivit le roi dans chacune de ses actions, comme une ombre. Patrouilles, rencontres diplomatiques, doléances du peuple - felin ou autre..
Plus le temps passait et plus Æsahættr lui déléguait de tâches. Iel apprenait à gérer le poids de ses futures responsabilités, et iel n´aurait sûrement pas reussi à prendre confiance en iel même s´iel n´avait pas reçu le soutien de personnes qui devinrent plus tard ses meilleures conseillers. Earethe fit partie de ces individus.
Le roi Æsahættr s´éteint dans son sommeil, avec la certitude que son royaume serait en de bonnes pattes. Kveth quand à iel, bien qu´entrainé depuis plusieurs années, craignait de ne pas être à la hauteur. Ses premiers mois de règne ne furent pas de tout repos. La naissance de plusieurs lionceaux au pelage "marqué par la noirceur" fit craindre à certains la résurgence d´une ancienne guerre, telle qu´annoncée par un Shaman des années plus tôt.
