Their voices bugged him. They plagued his mind, filling it with terrors of the unknown as it forced a conformity upon him that stifled his very beating heart until all he could do was move as a part of a system. Slinking through the shadows, he huddled under leaves, blood staining his mouth. He neared his king, tail swishing in anticipation, claws flexing slowly. Stark white filled his mind and he saw everything as it was meant to be. The king toppled and clawing his way up from nothing, rats and bones swarming him, eating him alive, gnawing through flesh and muscle and pain filled cries down to a festering silence. His golden throne stained red with the lives he took in the king's name.

Pinned to the dirt, the king flailed about as he flexed his claws deeper into his pathetic neck, ready to repay a debt long unfulfilled. He would remember him even after death as a gleam entered his eyes and he tore out the king's heart and every heart of those from his pride. Death belonged to him now and even as the king's mate sobbed into his fur, begging him to stop, that killing his father was too far, he held no regrets.
