During your trek across the arid savannah, you discover a seemingly lush jungle area and decide to explore it, after all, imagine the things you may find within!
Within the damp jungle terrain, your ears twitch as you swear you hear....voices? It only takes you two steps more with your paws before the ferns rustle and a growling lioness appears, hackles raised as she leers at you with narrowed eyes. She asks you why you're trespassing in her pride's territory. You, not wanting to start a fight, quickly respond, explaining you had no idea a pride lived within this expanse, and she seems to cool down a little, her tail lashing slower as she regards your form. If she wasn't of some other king's pride you'd consider flirting, she was pretty, after all, but you'd also rather keep your muzzle attached to your face, so you keep quiet as she sniffs you.
"Very well," she huffs. She insists you must meet the king since you trespassed, however, and you know better than not to comply when an agitated lioness was staring you down, so you begrudgingly follow her, walking for around five minutes before emerging in a small valley-like area with a waterfall, river, and plenty of places for lions to exist in. More lionesses than you could count on both forepaws dot the clearing, one of them keeping a watchful eye on a few cubs scampering about. There are two adult male lions lounging on the rocks, keeping an eye on the pride, though you have a feeling neither of them are the king. A couple of adolescent lions practice fighting or hunting with one another, and with a start, you notice a magnificent large lion watching them practice, her hulking frame and hardened eyes startling you, though you notice the white around her muzzle; she must be the grandpaw of the pride or an elderly king.
Your questions are answered when you hear a noise and turn, seeing a gorgeous great black, pink, and white lioness appear from a cave. She's covered in long, jagged battle scars, and with a start, you realise that the great queen was a mutant, with her dappled black patches and messy fur slightly ruffling in the breeze, and she walks toward you with a purpose in her stride. The lioness beside you moves back to give you both space as she regards you coolly.
"I am Eat Your Young," she greets, dipping her head. "Ruler of this pride, what brings you to my lands? Shelter? I have two submales already, I don't need more," she grumbles. You feel the fur on your spine rise, you're a king yourself! You'd never become some submale to anyone! You shake your head and tell the queen that you were just passing through, and she nods thoughtfully.
"I see, well, unless you'd like to ally yourself with my pride, I cannot let you stay outside of one night, I accept friends, I have a few already, but I can't spare food when I have a pride to feed."
You nod. Will you choose to befriend this queen and work alongside her as her ally? Or will you simply take the night she's giving you to stay to do something dastardly? Or will you simply just walk away without a word?
