History:
Larkpelt was a naive young lion who took on more than he could chew when he started his pride. Food was scarce, the hyena's were bold, and the lioness's he took in were worried.
He soon encountered Armageddon, a large lion who had grown up in a pride not too far away, and despite being the same age as larkpelt, had more experience in running a pride than he did. The two talked over a meal, and the pride was handed over to armegedon. Larkpelt retired and helped look after the cubs, while Armageddon helped the pride flourish, and flourish they did. For 16 years the pride was well fed and well looked after. The two male lions remained as close friends, and relied on each other heavily when the pride was in strife. But when the time came to pass on the leadership of the pride to another member, they were not expecting a tyrant to take over.
Redfur hid behind the facade of a gentle lion well, and up until the ceremony had remained a gentleman. But the moment he was given full control, and the ceremony completed, his facade fell and now a cruel leader reigns. Rumours are spreading that a new lion will rise and kick him from power, but with this rumour comes the murder of any male cub that resides in the clan.
It didn't take long for Redfur to meet his demise. A young Lioness thought to have died by the kings hands, had returned. She came back with a vengence, and a companion who seemed almost like the reincarnation of the previous king. Together, Redfur was no more, and soon the pair took lead of the clan, and slowly bought it back to it's former glory. Many had died by the cruel kings paws, it would take a long time before the clan was able to move on but the unnamed duo have worked hard to bring as much peace as they could to those who remained.
Sacrifice and Sacrificed had proven to be the best leaders the pride had had in a long while. As old age came over them, they handed ownership to a new lion, Nightfur.
Nightfurs reign was long, but things had changed. He didn't bring new lioness's in, he didn't attack others. The pride simply lived in peace as a unit, with occasional cubs being born. It was a quiet, peaceful time, which the now elder lions and lioness's needed. But unfortunately as time drew on, many passed away and moved on to the hunting land of the night sky. Soon the pride dwindled in numbers, and it became an uncertain period of time for the group, unsure whether they would survive, and their lineages passed on. But they all understood that due to the age of the pride it was hard to survive like others. This was the beginning of a new error for the lions however, as when they finally started to bring in new lions and lioness's, Nightfur was the one to train them how to hunt, and survive. He had learned a lot from the elder lioness's during his time as a leader, and while they weren't around anymore, Nightfur made sure all their teachings was passed on to the next generation. History was well preserved as a result, and many of the male lions had taken on roles of hunters and baby sitters to cubs in order to help soften the stress's of looking after the pride. It was a strange, yet new time for them, and it paved the path for a bright future.
It had been a long time since Nightfur was king. Many kings have come and passed over the years, all carrying the same teachings that Nightfur had worked hard to make sure all members knew. All stories, lessons and techniques were still passed on and still proved useful even now, far into the future of the pride. New lessons are always being taught, but the past is never forgotten. Nor has it ever been repeated.
