Rift Snake's Den

The rain falls so angrily on my fur making me shiver from the cold drops that fall from the sky, the river water shoves its way through the rocks and grass that are on the river bank, the night still haunting the lands and the river that flows through it. I sat there in front of the cold dark empty cave that use to be were my pride would sleep. The breeze picked up pushing my mane from side to side and in the distance i could hear a cub crying out... Where is that coming from? I said to myself as i stood up to see where it was coming from. I could hear the river swaying from one side to the other and then a splash... and everything went silent. The night made it hard to see, but that didn't stop me, once i got to where i heard the cries the cub popped up from the river screaming, still getting pulled under and getting pushed further down the river i chased after it. Once i got to the cub i got to my cave to keep it warm... "where is your mother little one?" I questioned. "Dead" the cub said before falling asleep in my warm thick mane.
