the territory of the alaskan pride.
a pride of thick coated lions with much shorter tails, and smaller ears than the usual lion. larger paws, often webbed and polydactyl served as snow shoes, and the genetics still pass down the generations. the pride resides in the jungle, but their love for rain and cold weather sets them apart for reasons besides their physical attributes.

The original king of the Alaskan Lights pride, has retired on April 9, 2024; at the age of fifteen. Being the namesake of the pride Alaskan Lights lives on through his cubs and will be forever remembered. He spends his final days soaking up the sun of spring, on the territory he fought for, surrounded by the pride he protected for over ten years. In his final days he is accompanied by his eldest daughter Ambrosia and his original queen, Caitriona.
The newest king, Petrichor, was chosen by Alaskan Lights before his retirement. Petrichor knows he has large paw steps to fill, and despite his young age is well trained and quick witted. He has chosen Daffodil, one of the youngest cubs of the former king to be his queen. He goes to Chives often for guidance, knowing the old lioness has plenty of wisdom to spare him.
