As you approach the marsh multiple sets of glowing eyes shine back at you from the reeds.
You pause, sniffing tentatively…
A large pride of lions…
Anxious brood mother’s hide the cubs as the hunters and warriors take positions all around you. Suddenly your blood runs cold as their massive male appears.
His menacing eyes glower at you. He shakes his mane and a few sub males flank him. They are also massive, almost as large as their King…
Hesitantly you lift your front paw and flatten your ears.
The massive king lets out a bone shaking roar which is echoed by his submales. The sounds sends all the adolescents still lingering scuttling off into the marsh.
The marsh falls silent. You understand his meaning. He is warning you. You are TOO CLOSE to mates too close to his cubs.
You flick your tail as he continues to size you up.
“What is your purpose outsider?” A large female you had not noticed approaching from behind growls, nipping at your thigh.
You jump away from her teeth and the large male charges you. He lands a large paw on the side of your face. The impact stings…
“Answer my queen!” The large lion roars in your face.
