You coughed slightly, still not used to the ashy air of Apparition’s volcanic territory. The primal king beside you rolled his eyes, but the corners of his mouth twitched upward into a small smile. It was clear that he was amused by your reaction.
He led you further up the volcano, onto a ledge jutting out from the side of the uphill rocky terrain, and you practically flopped over from the exhaustion you felt.
Apparition nudged you harshly, forcing you to stand tall once again.
“There,” he pointed his snout to a cave, seemingly dug into the side of the volcano with a lion’s own bare claws. Yowch.
“That’s it. That’s the Hunting Cave. Go take a look,” Apparition chuffed, shoving you closer to the cave.
He seemed like he was trying to get rid of you, but whatever, you were too tired to argue. So, you let your aching paws drag you towards the cave.
