There's a shift in the air on this cold evening, everyone in the pride can sense it. All of the queens, despite their...respect... for their king, wished for him to be done with his evil and ruthless reign. He had raised his heir to be cruel, heartless, and savage and for a while, it seemed as though the future king would follow in Romancek's pawsteps. That was, until the younger, thus stronger male, approached the king on this day, demanding that Romancek either step down or fight to the death - "your reign of evil is over, my king."
The elderly lion lets out a bemused chuffaw, appalled at the audacity of his heir, "You think you can defeat me? You may be strong, but you're naive. You are not ready to lead this pride, and you will run it into the ground. The things I have done - while you may not approve - have been for the greater good of this pride."
Bᴜᴄᴋʏ lets out a deep snarl, and for only a second the queens who have now gathered around the two see fear in the old king's eyes. Bᴜᴄᴋʏ stands proud, not backing down from the other lion, staying firm in his decision. "I do not wish to fight you, Romancek. In fact, I will let you stay in this pride until you pass on and join our ancestors, but from now on you will follow my lead, and we will do things differently around here - you will not be allowed to harm the others, and if you refuse me again, you will give me no choice but to end this in a more violent way."
"Pah!" Romancek scoffs, but his legs are shaking - whether it's from old age or fear, the lionesses are unable to tell, "You couldn't defeat me if you tried! Let us duel!" The elderly lion snarls again, setting himself in a fighting stance. Without warning, he sluggishly lunges towards Bᴜᴄᴋʏ, claws outstretched, but the younger male easily strikes him down, causing him to topple over like paper in the wind. Bᴜᴄᴋʏ sniffs disapprovingly down at the lion who is now struggling to get back up, "Your reign is done, Romancek. You are no longer king." Romancek looks up at Bᴜᴄᴋʏ, an angry glint in his eyes, but when he looks around to the lionesses who are circled around them, he can see they are now looking to Bᴜᴄᴋʏ, as if him striking the king down was enough for them to switch their alliances.
"You're all traitors - I have done everything to protect you and this is how you repay me, with anarchy!" He bellows, but doesn't get back up. Bᴜᴄᴋʏ looks at the old male now with a sympathetic glance, "Let me help you, Romancek. There is still a chance for you." He nudges the former king up despite his protests and assists him to the Cave of the Ancients, where the Dorden Pride has made their home over the years.
When he emerges from the cave, he glances at the lionesses now surrounding him; they have accepted him as their king, but he can see the hesitance in their eyes. He gives a warm smile, one none of the lionesses have seen in their lifetime, only having heard of stories passed down from their now deceased mothers.
"Do not fear, my friends. Things will be very different from this day forward." A few of the lionesses let out audible sighs of relief, and a few whisper of the two familiar figures in the distance approaching.

i will try to be active friday, saturdays, and sundays, but i'll likely be slower. I work very late hours on these days, so i'm asleep most of the day. i am far more active monday to thursday (although may start working mondays and tuesdays too) but i may be slow to respond to PMs or other inquiries.
