We should have quick and easy access to coding tools. For instance, I have no idea how to make a link an actual link here! And what about images? How do we paste them in? Know what I mean?

I don't mean a guide. I mean right where we go to reply to threads, we have full access to all the coding tools. Check this out if you still don't know what I mean:

This idea comes from chickensmoothie.com.

No support, for what Cat just posted. There are a bazillion HTML guides on here.

I support this.

I know many of the codes, so dont need a guide anymore, but it would be still more neat if we could get them into our posts just with a click of a button. Some codes really are a little long.... and annoying to repeatedly write them in.

Yes, guides are nice to learn the codes, but this idea would make it more convenient for posting.

I still do not support this despite the changes. The guides are enough to teach people basic coding skills. I have all basic codes, like links and images, in a sticky note to the side of my desktop so I can just copy and paste. Bookmark a guide and it does the same thing.

I mean, I think something like this COULD be implemented for codes like bold, italic, and strike through, and stuff, but it really isn't necessary.

Here are the basic codes:
<*b><*/b> - Bold
<*i><*/i> - Italic
<*s><*/s> - Strike through
<*u><*/u> - Underline.

<*a href="url"><*/a> - link
<*img style="width:520px" src="directurl"*> - image set to fit within the thread.

Basically, if you have those somewhere easy to access, a huge coding nightmare to implement this toolbar is avoided. Plus it isn't hard to memorize B is for bold, I is for italic, U is for underline, and S is for strikethrough. The only hard part is screens hotting the lion and uploading it to Dropbox, Imgur, Photobucket, DeviantArt, or Tinypic.

For me, it is a huge hassle, especially when I try to make my text formatting nice, or pasting pictures for art sales or showcasing stuff. It can be a rather huge bother, even if you know the codes. I myself know them but I have learned that I despise setting up art sales threads because it needs so many codes written in. The time could be shortened by enabling one-click formatting.

And I dont think that a formatting toolbar is really such a huge problem to implement. All forums I am on has at least the basics (bold, italic, underline, quoting, url, image, left, center, right) And it really makes typing more welcoming.

Right now... too much time goes to waste by having to type the codes. While I can write without this 'toolbar', it certainly would be more convenient.

I mean, what would be a hindrance for those who know these codes anyway? It would help those who dont know, and those who are yearning for something convenient. It really wouldnt affect anyone negatively.

I support this.

It's not about guides or knowing the codes, because I know all of the basic codes to link, bold, change font, etc. It's just a matter of being convenient to have them there instead of having to type them every time.

And as Axel said, I don't see how this could possibly affect anyone negatively. We could still have it and players who know the codes and prefer to type them can stick to that.

I love this idea, I've been wondering why LioDen didn't have this feature.

So much support!
