Just an idea i came up with at work.i find the lioness/sub male featues a little laking soo...i am aware this would be alot of work but i thing it could improve the game overall
This might be long so I'll cut to the point

1. Injuries.
Males who patrol and lionesses who hunt should have a chance at getting injured. Injuries can be Minor, Serious, can wait until they heal by them self or use a herb bundle( and Possibly Fatal... But that won't mean your lion will die.you'll have time to heal them! If you don't use a herb bundle they will have a low chance of survivor though) Serious injuries could have a chance to give you a scar.

Males: lower skill=higher chance of getting injured

Females: hunting GROUP SIZE and SKILL would define the chance of injury as well as where your lionesses hunt as different prey are defended differently. Injuries also add reason to train more lionesses to hunt
Minor: can still hunt or patrol but increases chances of serious injuries and lowers chance of success takes 1 day to heal
Serious: can not patrol or hunt for 3 days( as it takes 3 days to heal into minor)
---Possibly fatal:THIS WOULD BE RARE!!(maybe a 5-10% chance? Or less?) this one DOES NOT HAVE TO BE INCLUDED IN THIS IDEA but might make this interesting. You have 2 days to heal if you don't you lion will likely die...but if by luck he survives your lion will receive "serious injury" status. You whould get a message to tell you if your lion died or survived

2.Item ideas for injuries:hearb bundles:an SB item, price depends on size. small bundle = 2 uses. Medium= 5 uses. And large= 8 uses how it works: minor injuries are 50% healed by 1 use.serious 25% chance or healing into minor in one use (possibly fatal 10ish% chance of healing into serious)

Stone of protection: SB. (Fairly cheap) 10 "uses" how it works:you assign it to a lion or lioness and it lowers chances of serious injuries by 50%(100% chance of no fatal injuries)for 10 hunts or patrols(only affects assigned lioness during hunts)

And revival: GB item: brings a lion that died before its 10th birthday back to life unless it died of mutation

Map and exploration: perhaps you can send your injured to a shaman to be heal(could offer a set number of healings per day or week...like sharping claws or stud slots) or find healing items in explore(similar to the November event herbs)

Mode switch: a few people said they would like a way to choose between playing a relaxed game(pretty much the way the game is now)and a realistic game(with injuries and lionesses having a chance to die from those suggested injuries) so what if there was a switch on the den page to choose?

Edit: removed invincibility, changed first aid kit to herb bundles clarifide healing times for injury types and rivival use also added shaman idea as suggested by tialura and sikia

Edit 2: shaman offering a set number of free heals and mode switch

This suggestion has 227 supports and 1 NO support.

Hm, interesting. But the First aid kit seems a little out of place since Lioden is from the perspective of a Lion pride, not humans. I don't think they'd be able to acquire a first aid kit. :o

I don't like the idea of invincibility...and I'm kind of on the fence for revival. Perhaps if it was really expensive? Like 25GB?

In replacement of the first aid kit, there could be herbal cures you could buy from the monkey (which could work for sicknesses too, if that's ever implemented) - different kinds of things, for different injuries? Perhaps even minor/lesser herbal cures could be craftable?

OR

A new little spot on the map maybe? A place to send your injured lion/lioness to be healed by the herbalists. It would probably cost SB, since we all know we desperately need something to increase its value, and depending on the injury/sickness, it would take a certain amount of time for them to heal, maybe with a small percentage chance that they could die if the injury was severe enough? Hours - or maybe days, again, depending on the injury?

I don't know. Hah I have weird ideas.

All in all, yes for the injuries and for the stone of protection and first aid kit items.

No for the invincibility.

MAYBE on the revival. Edit: And revival shouldn't be possible for those lion/esses that die due to lethal mutations.

I think because it's more form the lions point of view that this just don't work well. It seems like it would make things harder for the player sadly.

Maybe we could reintroduce the shamans from the flood event?

"To show their gratitude for your sacrifices and gifts of rawhide these healers have begun aid Lioden and heal the sick and injured."

Something along those lines. Instead creating a new npc we can ravamp old ones. :D

Personally, I don't like this idea. I like Lioden because I can come here, do a couple things, and not have to worry about things. I don't have the income to buy GB so I could see myself getting frustrated enough to leave the game by the current suggested implementations. I don't think it's a horrible idea, but I would really hate to see the game go this way, myself. Maybe if there were some kind of toggle for a "hardcore" play option or something I would support it, but as it stands, I don't support. Maybe I'm just reading it wrong, I did just wake up, but this would make the game far less casual gameplay to me, and that's what I enjoy about it, so it'd be removing exactly the thing I enjoy. *shrug*

Before I say anything, just know that I really like this idea and you have my support. However, I see where Tysinni is coming from. If there could be an on/off switch in the Edit Details section of dens, it would make this feature a lot more appealing. But that might require some recoding, so I'm not sure if the staff would like it XD It certainly would make gameplay more interesting. Alacrity has something like this, and I thought it was really cool.

NOW, suggestions. Maybe if there was no actual dying involved? I'd be really upset if one of my prized lions croaked prematurely just because I didn't have money for an herb bundle or something. Some people get super attached to their lions, and others (such as myself) are more business-like. It would suck to lose potential income if a lion/lioness died.
If there was a shaman (lion or otherwise--maybe another snake lol) maybe he/she could offer a set number of healings per a certain number of rollovers--e.g., three healings per five rollover days.

Just a couple thoughts that might make this easier...I hope that was at all helpful! I'd like to see at least something like this implemented into the game.

Very interesting. Injuries happen in real life for lions.

Maybe there could be different kinds of injuries with specific herbs to cure it?(Ex: Broken bone would need some sort of cast thing to heal)

From my "realism suggestion"

*On sick/damaged lion/esses*
Wounds:
Hunting: The lioness work together in a hunt and protect each other. if highly skilled ones are sent with lowly skilled ones they protect them from harm.

If you send out 5 Level 1 lionesses(extreme example m'kay?) they get wounded and cannot hunt for X amount of days. Injuries can vary, deadly ones are pass/cured by a SB/GB item from the Monkey like 'Jungle Water' or something(a mysterious liquid found in the Jungles of LioDen...it seems to make the sick healthy and heal the wounded...)
Males get wounded from PvP fights they lost and cannot be killed but harshly wounded and less likely to win other fights.

Newer players will get 5-10 game-months to train up their lionesses and have no repercussion from their males fighting to help them?

The chance of getting wounded during a hunt depends on several things:

- How many lionesses hunt
- Which Level the lioness(es) are/is
- The prey they hunt

So, if you send 5 lionesses on hunt, the chance is rather low, as they would protect each other

The higher the level, the higher the experience of a lioness, which means the lioness knows how to avoid getting injuried.

Of course getting wounded also depends on the prey. If they hunt a Buffalo or a Elephant (even if a calf), the chance is higher to get wounded.

Here a example:

- 2 lionesses (each lvl 5) bring back an Ibex (20% Chance of a wounded lioness)
- 5 lionesses (each lvl 5) bring back a Buffalo (30-40% Chance of a wounded lioness)
- 5 lionesses (each lvl 14) bring back a Buffalo (5-10% Chance of a wounded lioness)

Also if the wound is heavy/big or small depends on the prey.
A Buffalo or a Zebra can cause a bigger wound, than a Bongo or any Gazelle-type

A possible notice for a small or heavy/big wound could be:

- Your lioness got a small injury during the hunt. She wont be able to hunt for 1 day.
- Your lioness is heavly injuried. She wont be able to hunt for 2/3 days

For herbs to heal them I'd bring back the Aloe, Acacia, Gotu Kola.

With a small wound a lioness couldn't hunt for 1 LioDen-day, maybe?
With a heavy wound maybe 2-3 days?

Could a lioness/lion explore/hunt like THIS (graphic) http://saharatribune.com/wp-content/galleries/maaasai-maara-lion/lion2.jpg I'd think serious wounds a little less than this.

Please no fatal ones. People would get in an uproar over losing their "20 GB" special marked lion/ess and even more so if they have to pay 25GB to revive it. Players would Freak.Out. And outcry how this is a game and how it shouldn't be "hard". >_>

Fatal injuries would be very rare and would only affect lions that hunt or patrol...I've also suggested an Silver Beetle item to protect your lion temperately if you do hunt your custom lionesses

I still don't think fatal injuries would be a good idea. I don't have a problem with it personally but I don't see other users thinking this is going to be nice.
There is going to be that group of individuals that will say "I spent 10GB or more on my lion/ness and now I have to spend even MORE to make sure I don't lose him/her?"

I'm all for realistic, but not at the expense of losing something you've worked for. The battle sys is getting people ticked because forbid LD added a challenging element. But no one loses anything serious. With the possibility of fatalities, that's serious, and people will get crazy over it.

Not sure how difficult the coding would be to make a "realistic" and "causal" mode, I'd assume very beings the mods would have to separate aspects of the current Sys to a new one for casual and realistic, then add certain causal aspect updates and ones for realistic updates.

I'm against the separate modes and this is the reason. This community is supposed to work together, and right now that's kinda edgy as is, so doing this would drive people even farther apart and even more distant.

I'd support this idea for subs (patrolling) and lionesses, but not for main lions. WITHOUT fatal injuries and times being in hours and not days.

Injury causes subs to be unable to patrol for X HOURS (not days) with 1-3 hours depending on injury.

Injury cases lioness to be unable to hunt for X HOURS with 1/2 - 4 hours depending on injury.

You can shorten the time by buying an item from the monkey.
