Questing Revamp

I am not sure what people will say to this, but this popped into my head a while ago. Right now questing is pretty much random. The snake can give you various types of quests, surprising you. Sometimes we love him for it, sometimes we curse him. Now I personally don’t always like the randomness, if anything, I would love to choose what type of quest I want to get, and see different kind of rewards being given for them. I also don’t like the fact that the Snake Skull costs more than 10 quest rewards… making it not that tempting, neither desirable nor profitable when used.

Choosing the Type of Quests
Currently we have only three types of quests: Hunting, NPC battle and collecting quests. What if you could choose which one you want to take? Of course all have their own drawback and their own advantages, thus should give rewards accordingly, having their own unique luring power. I guess this is where you could suggest new quest types as well.
So all in all, the Sake should list all these three type of quests and give you the choice what you want. Of course the randomness factor wouldn’t be completely gone, as what you get inside those quests is indeed random.

Reward System
We all know that the reward of the quests are rather unbalanced. Not only do you get more when at lower level, but at higher levels it is barely anything. At 20+ the reward is barely if 1% of exp, 10-20SB and 2 impression if you are lucky. I think quest rewards should be not only adjusted to the level of the lion but also to the quest type. Because yes, I think quest types should all have their own range of rewards which are slightly higher than the norm to make them more tempting.

Rewarding in Quest Types
-Hunting Quest: According to level of lion and prey rarity. Should give more impression because you impress the snake.
-NPC Fights: According to level of lion and amount of NPC. Should give more exp, as you gain experience while you fight.
-Collecting Quest: According to level of lion and value of items. Should give more SB as some items are more worth when sold than given to the snake.

Level System
The quests should also count in the level in a better way than they do now in order to make it worth the effort. Who would press on to beat 9 NPCs just for miserable 200exp at level 20, when that is barely 1% and he could have gotten more exp when fighting random NPCs? Who would want to go ahead and give their zebra and wildebeest carcasses for 20SB to the snake while they are worth 44SB together? At lower levels maybe it pays off to do these quests but as soon as you hit higher levels… they are highly worthless to do and attract less attention.

-Exp: Should always give 2%-5% exp at NPC fight quests. (5-3% at lower levels -1 to 15, 2% at higher levels -from 16 to all levels-)

- Impression: Should give 3-6 impression % at Hunting Quests. (6-4% at lower impression, 3% at dreamboat)

- SB: Should always give 50-100SB at Collection Quests. (50-75SB at levels of 1-15, 76-100SB at levels 15- all levels)

See? Each type of quests would have their own higher reward type, making them tempting on their own way, depending what we want. And no, it doesnt mean that we would only get the reward listed above for the quests. It simply means that these should be higher than the norm we have now. The others can stay. It also should always display beforehand what reward it will give when showing you the quest goal.

Adjusting Price of Snake Skull
Right now the reward you get for quests never reach 150SB… Which means that it doesn’t pay off to buy the item, as it costs about 3 times as much as the normal quest reward. I think this needs adjusting. It should always consider the reward of all quest types, and put in the average reward sum, to at least cost only 1x the reward.
Average sum according to my idea:: 75SB.

Or this shouldn’t be an item but a fee within the Quest Type, the SB amount would differ either by Quest Type, possible quest reward or the level of the lion, like I summed up above.

No Impact on Explore and Hunting!!
Because no matter what the staff says, sadly as soon as you get a type of animal to kill, prey to hunt or item to collect, they will automatically vanish from your game until you failed the quest. There are many proofs for this. I have experimented with this.

Eg:
Enemy lions popped up as every second NPC when exploring, and as soon as I have to kill them, I barely notice 1-2 on a day. Once I failed they wouldnt stop appearing again. My lionesses kept bringing back impalas, once I needed to hunt them, they kept bringing back zebras and even rare hippo calves one after the other. Once I failed they didnt get anything else for 5 hunts than impalas.

So getting quests should NOT have an impact on your gameplay at all. Animals should appear the same way, prey should be hunted the same way. If anything, we need more diversity in appearing animals. There are animals I didnt even meet in biomes while I was there... They dont have a rarity so should appear accordingly.

Please share your opinion, point out flaws, how I can solve them, suggest new quest types, and help me find the right values… because I am not sure about them.
Thank you for reading.

I totally agree with this! Especially the part about quests not impacting exploring or hunting. With my other lion, I have to kill 9 elephants. Usually I find elephant dung several times during one exploring session, but as soon as I took the quest I stopped seeing it at all. It's getting extremely frustrating, and I keep failing the NPC battling and hunting quests. It makes the entire thing very unappealing.

I love this idea! It's exactly what I was thinking, I just could never put it into words. :3

It would be very nice if EXP would adjust according to the lion's level. Once you get up to level fifteen or so, quests just seem pointless.

I know this is old now, but I totally support this. Questing at this moment isn't even worth it at all, and it does seem rigged as stated above. I would like to see more "other" things to do/achieve on here, rather than just rp, like the questing and events.

I would love the ability to pick the types of quests. I keep getting the hunting ones when I don't have any lionesses. I prefer the slsying and gathering ones.

I definitely support, however there is one problem. We all know that the quests do make animals in explore vanish, but they did make an item that is supposed to make them appear more often. So I think it's an intentional thing to try and make a challenge. Unfortunately the challenge is set a little too high. But still I support.

Yes, the alcoholic drink will give us more options, yay!
Put that because you put Sake instead of Snake LOL

Anyways, support. I like this.
