The prices seem a bit too high. Being an artist myself I mus say your coloring is good, but your faces need a bit of work. I suggest studying pictures of animals a bit and then trying to practice. For example, the lion at the top example has too large a muzzle, more akin to a hippo's would.

For the time being, I would chop the prices in half and advertise

Wow, Danmaku. "Being an artist yourself" you should know that you really should never tell anyone that their prices are "too high". Seriously, you want them to charge less than $3 for a badge? Less than $2.50 for a flat coloured headshot?

If their work needs improvement I'm sure they'll learn along the way, but to tell someone that their work is worth less than $2.50? Wow.

As for me Merit, i think your prices are perfect, and the artwork is wonderful ^^ especially considering I know how much time you put into em.

Sadly I agree with Danmaku as far as prices go (I'm far from experienced enough to critique your anatomy), us Liodenians are quite frugal when it comes to art. DX

I'd suggest lowering your prices (at least for the headshot, the others seem fairly reasonable) until you have more examples then raise your prices as your skills increase, it's always best to start low to generate some business.

But at the end of the day it's totally up to you on what you want to price your art at. ^^

EDIT: Also I'm sure Danmaku didn't mean to come off as saying Inkie's art was 'worthless'. They were only offering their opinion in relation to the Lioden art community/economy. and giving some pointers on anatomy.

Danmaku

Thank you for the reply, I'm not used to Lioden currency, I'm more atuned to deviantART currency as it's easier for me to track. I do appreciate the word of a more experienced player. I would ask you don't criticize my art as I did not ask for it and comparing it to a hippo is a tad offensive. This is also a stylized version of a lioness so it's not supposed to be realistic or show realism qualities such as whiskers, proper sclera colour etc.

Kailani,

Thank you for helping me with the prices! I've always gone with "There is no such thing as bad art" I was told this to build my confidence. In a way there is no such thing as bad art and I personally find it rude when someone says so. Not the point whoops ^^'

I think that your drawings are just beautiful, Merit, and I would pay the GB if I had it. :)

I honestly don't see why 'chopping prices in half' is rude. It would only mean more people have a chance to buy your art and spread the word. And when you post art that you are trying to sell you have to remember not everyone is going to like it. There will be comments that criticize you but you have to take the good and the bad. Because others might being thinking the same thing but won't tell you, thus not buying your art. And I agree comparing the lion muzzle to a hippo was rude, but everything else was fine.

WhiteFang1,

While I agree suggesting to chop the price in half is not rude; I think he meant the criticism towards my art. I am well aware people will continue to view my art and criticize (and it will always remain that way) it and I am very much open to constructive criticism! I keep the comment in my head and use it when drawing. However, criticizing art when I did not specifically ask for it is rude. (At least it's rude to me personally) All I asked for was pricing help, not for my art to be compared to something else and the faces needing work.

Hey! I love your art and was wondering if you had an example of the wallpaper?

Also, would you take items/lions?

One more question! Sorry! But, do you have a scenery style or just animals?

Sorry for bombarding you with questions!
