Elachi Deer, a combination of the words Elaphodus Selachimorpha, which is a combination of the scientific names for 'tufted deer' (Elaphodus) and 'shark' (Selachimorpha). (This is a closed art species by me, Illusion on Lioden, ID #28866. Please respect that. Whole species info coming soon! :D Feel free to post comments and questions about this if you wish.) Rules go here: -These are a CLOSED SPECIES. Unless you have permission from me, you may NOT make one. Please respect this. -A permit to create one (1) Elachi Deer (wild or domestic) character is 2 GB. This permit enables you to create a design, choose ear and fur type, and give the character any personality and backstory you wish (as long as it follows how they live normally, and follows what they must have physically) -A permit to create one (1) Antarctic Elachi Deer is 3 GB. This is because they are a rarer species. This permit enables you to create a design, choose ear type, and give the character any personality and backstory you wish (as long as it follows how they live normally, and follows what they must have physically) 0 players like this post! Species InformationElachi Deer always have: -Fangs -Deerlike features (hooves, head shape) -Horns -Gills Wild Elachi DeerKey Features -Always are modeled after an animal. See example in the 'subspecies/breeds' section Community Wild Elachi Deer live alone or in groups called tribes. Tribes consist of 5 to 40 Elachi Deer. Diet and Hunting A typical wild Elachi Deer's diet consists of fish, crabs, plants, bark, and the occasional small shark. They are omnivores. They catch their seafood with their sharp front fangs in steams, rivers, lakes, and oceans, and eat plants with their deer-like teeth farther back in their mouths. Elachi Deer usually live in forests, but can live in a variety of other places, widely expanding their diet. Those who live in rainforest eat fungi, plants, frogs, bugs, and the occasional toucan. Habitat Elachi Deer can live in a few different biomes. Though they can live in many different climates, it is very hard for an Elachi Deer to adapt if they are moved to a new biome. Elachi Deer who live in forests lean more on the herbivore side, their fangs growing in shorter. Elachi deer who live in mountains must rely on eating vegetation and the uncommon fish from a stream. Those who live in rainforests make homes near waterfalls, taking baths of mist every morning. Domestic Elachi DeerKey Features: -Brightly and unusually colored pelts, normally superior attitudes, Antarctic Elachi DeerKey Features -Always have long fur on chest, head area, tail base floof, and stomach. -Always are based on shades of blue and white, though small other colors may be added. Diet A typical Antarctic Elachi Deer's diet consists of penguins, jellyfish, algae, gulls, and the rare beluga whale. Ones who live in tundra feed more on moss and lichen, and ones who live in forests have Hunting To hunt their living food, Antarctic Elachi Deer rear up and stamp their hooves down on the ice, breaking a hole when repeated. They then snatch whatever animals stay near the surface and go to eat. If this practice is worked on by a tribe, food is easily caught and they can even hunt with thicker ice. Individual Elachis find it extremely hard to catch food because their hooves alone don't easily break the ice, even when working on thin ice. By the time an individual has broken a hole, lots of the prey has swum away in fright. Then the Elachi must dive deeper into the water, putting themselves at risk as the water grows darker and more predators lurk. Habitat Arctic Elachi Deer live in snowy forests, tundra, and glaciers in Antarctica. Wait, snowy forests in Antarctica?! Yep. In the time of Elachi Deer, trees do exist in Antarctica. The trees had evolved and altered to fit harsher, freezing weather under human's testing long ago, had been brought to Antarctica. Elachi Deer who live in tundra feed on moss and lichen more often. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 10/01/15 by Illusion (#28866) |
